one time my setteings was switched to italian . I had a hell of a time switching it back because i could not read anything. Personally i think the idea to start this site in beta was a bad choice for a social site. With all the changing going on a hacker could have a hay day with this site and nobody would even notice till it was to late . As far as we know it could of already happend

Profile > Edit Profile > Language Choices.

The problem occurs when using Google to find forum posts. Threads are replicated in English on forums which have different language settings. You can only spot this in the search engine if you examine the url. If you happen to choose one of those links, your language is automatically reset. You may even end up with a mix of languages.

The old format Bioware forums have always suffered from this, so it's not just because this site is beta.

Da. At least there's a quick way to set it back if you don't want to edit the URL or take up foreign-language lessons.

In the bottom right corner of the page, after the Site Rules link, there's a drop-down list where you can set your language back to English.

This is probably caused by visiting pages with a lang_id specified in the URL. When you view a page with a lang_id in the URL, your language setting is set to whatever the lang_id specifies. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea. At the very least, it shouldn't apply to logged in users.

I just noticed the language selection button at the bottom of the page. All day yesterday, the forum was in l337-speak, and I thought I was going nuts. You can switch it back to English fairly easily. Question for Bioware: l337-speak is a language now? Really?
