This is one of the funny renegade options in the citadel shops. Well, he doesn't consider himself poor, it's just a way for him to squeeze out the discount. It's like with the Salarian in one the shop, can't remember the name and shop. He says something like 'you can't fight the geth with 2183 star charts' and we all know that shep doesn't possess only 2183 star charts.

It's the favourite shop of that kind on the citadel - at least *some* of the shopkeeper dialogue indicates stuff like I'll be the only [gun, whatever] shop with that kind of endorsement . Simple, it's the only one of its kind you can visit on the Citadel, so it has to be your favourite by default.

I thought that as well when I first saw the option. However, I noticed each shop you can make that claim at has different inventory(Unless I wasnt paying attention). So you get to recomend your favorite place to buy guns and your favorite place to buy space hamsters. I see nothing wrong with that

I think once you do it more than twice you should start getting both paragon and renegade points. Paragon for being so nice, but renegade for being a liar and a ****. +4/+1 would be fine and fitting.
