I've done my best to search around before resorting to this, but haven't been able to find anything helpful:

I bought the game via steam.
I made an account on BioWare Social Network beta.
I went to Profile > Register Games > Dragon Age Origins PC > Click here to register game.
I go to steam > right click DA Origins > view CD Key > copy to clipboard.
I paste the 16 digit cd key into the little box, hit enter, and it tells me that the code is not valid for the game.

Now I've noticed that the website informs me the key should be in this kind of format: 1111-2222-3333-4444-5555.  I've tried viewing all the options for the game under Steam and there is no 20 digit cd key to be found.

What am I doing wrong?  The only reason I even signed up for this site is to download the DA toolset in an attempt to fix a bug with the game...

Try it without the dashes. I'm sure I saw that somewhere, but now I have no idea where...

Tried it with and without the dashes, doesn't work either way.

I cant register mine either.. says its invalid (I bought a physical copy)



And if I try to redeem those promo codes, it says there is no response from the remote server or something like that.



Plus, the stuff I got from this flash mini game is listed as mine on this site, but ingame there is nothing to download.



Does anyone know what to do?



Is it perhaps because I got the UK version? (I live in Germany but I didnt want another crappy German translation)

bought mine da:o in london when i been on a trip, my stone prisoner and blood dragon armor worked here but i cant register for game for da:o tool what is wrong with this

Same here, can't register or redeem promo code. Tried caps, no caps, dashes and no dashes. Can't find any numbers to call.

Just had a chat with customer support and he said that they are having issues with their server

Same here, I just got it from Direct2Drive and entered the CD key, with and without dashes. Nothing. I've been trying everyday since I got it three days ago. I think they are full of crap! Pardon my English. I get the feeling they really don't care about their old games like this one.

Sorry to inform you all that we are probably never going to be able to register the game with them, that being said, At least we can still enjoy the game.

I have the same problem with Mass Effect 2.right now.

I just bought ME2 today and can't register the game either. "Code is not valid for game"...



Is there an email you can use to get help?

Dragon Age is hardly an old game... when did it come out?

Old or not, they should care as they advertised that you get additional contents.

Have the same problem, bought the game at Direct.cod.ru - can't register the game or promo for DLC too. Contacted EA live support, they told me that both keys are invalid and I should ask direct.cod.ru to replace the game or ask for refund. I've contacted direct.cod and they replaced my keys, but they are invalid again Now I am waiting for Direct.cod.ru to resolve the problems (they said they are investigating issue now). So it seems like there is some obvious problem with some EA keys - direct.cod.ru is official EA partner and I don't believe they or steam or Direct2Drive are selling invalid keys by intention, I believe this is EA or Bioware fault, however the only thing I can do now is to wait for Direct.cod to deal with situation , because EA live support was not a big help.

Hope to read some "success stories" in this topic or even write my own soon

Having the same problem with a retail boxed version of DA Origins.

same here...have physical copy of DA and cannot register it nor download DLC using promo code..I hope I can at least play the game without problems however they should really fix this register/DLC mess ASAP !!

Same for me with ME2 registering. Customer support at EA told me yesterday that the bioware server is down and I should try again after 6-7 hours. Still doesn't work though...
