Forgive me, as I had difficulty finding the answer I was looking for, in previous posts asking a similar question.

If you recall, in the first Mass Effect, at the end of the game, you can choose either to save the council, or to not save the council. At first I chose to not save the council (not realizing the day could still be won even if you save them), but quickly realized that the Reapers could still be defeated even if the humans went to save the council. That being said, I promptly loaded (after seeing a short cutscene where joker ignores a transition from the Asari aboard the Ascention), and this time chose instead, to rescue the council. When I got to the choice again I chose instead to rescue them. At the end of the game, I was given an award by the original council, and then chose captain Anderson as the human representative, on the alien dominated council.

However, when I played the second game today, I learned, to my horror, that apparently, my original decision not to save the council was the one that carried over, as, the one named "The Illusive Man" refers to the fact that the council is dominated by humans. Unfortunately, after saving joker, I had to turn off my xbox, as I had to go.' Mind you, this all happened before the Lazarus cutscene.

All of this being said, is there any way for me to start the second game, with the original (alien dominated) council intact? If it is so, how do I do that?

Thanks for your help!
