I have beaten the game 1st with an ME1 import.  I have beaten the game a 2nd time, importing the ME2 character from the 1st playthrough.  Now I decided to use an import of the ME1 character for my Insanity run, so I can choose a different class.

During the first mission, you will get a list of acquired item pop-ups showing all of the bonuses you get for importing an ME1 character, having a completed ME2 save, and etc.  During those pop-ups, one comes up saying I get all Heavy Weapons for having a completed ME2 save.  Do I have all heavy weapons when I get to the first Weapon's Locker?  No.

Yes there is a bug here.  Either the pop-up notice of acquiring the heavy weapons is the bug, or not acquiring all heavy weapons is the bug.

Unfortunately, I do not have a PC with an HD input capture device to take a image of the pop-up when it appears to prove it and have it legible.

I figured you get to keep all heavy weapons. That is, porting over a ME1 character, you have no heavy weapons (since they didn't exist in ME1), but if you run your ME2 character through again, you'll retain them.



But I agree that it did seem like I should get them all.

Me1 imoprt is from scratch, no weapons only the money and minerals, ME2 import gives you all weapons from first time, all armor parts you bought and your armor looks the same as it was on finish.

I know the ME1 import is from scratch, but I got a message during the intro mission saying I received all heavy weapons for having a completed ME2 game save.

I've seen that message also. I think it must be a bug.

Was it "received" all heavy weapons or "retained" all heavy weapons? I always thought it said you retained all heavy weapons from previous games. In which case, you don't get them because you didn't have any in ME1. I'll have to start up a new game again to check out the text...

Long Service Bonuses

You receive the following bonuses for having beaten Mass Effect 2.

+25% bonus Experience on all missions
Retain all heavy weapons from previous playthroughs
...snip...

Since an imported ME1 character has no heavy weapons, that's why there aren't any when you get to a weapons locker.
