I am curious as to what other game series has allowed you to be a werewolf. The only one I can recollect is an expansion for Morrowind from the Elder Scroll series.

Granted, the Shapeshifting mages get is probably nothing compared to the old fashioned "Werewolves". But am I seeing things wrong that a Mage could potentially get the ability to Shapeshift into a Werewolf?
Going by the fact that we saw a Mage shapeshift into a Giant Spider, getting all the attributes of being a spider (legs/eyes etc.)... Would you not be able to shapeshift into a 'Werewolf' in the same way and get the properties of one?
What are the limits/possibilities of the Shapeshifting specialization for Mages to begin with?
[Not talking about the 4 spells, simply how the mechanic works lore wise.]
Do you need to study said creature in the wilds in order to shapeshift into it? If so, why not find a 'Rage Demon Possessed Wolf' and study the physical attributes/characteristics?
EDIT: And is the Shapehifter kit from Baldur's Gate 2 not considered a Werewolf form?

Well then I would say your best chance to seeing this happen is if Bioware is able to make some kind of deal with Sony and Microsoft to use user created content. I don't see this happening in the future at all. I could be wrong though.

Thankz IB and yes we are good I was never angry at you and thank you, you seem like a mature person^__^ same goes for you Servent^_^
The only issue with the mod stuff is that....Im getting this for 360:( so i think thats where Some of the anger came from cuz everyone says the same thing to go to the tools board and tell them but they can't do anything if its on the 360 right?:(

I do not follow much of what is happening on Xbox  and not do many of the folks that gave you that advice-so maybe people made the assumption that mods will still be available on the XBOX even if the toolset is not. That would be a wrong assumption.

There will still be threads for DLC, and that would be  a place where a request can be made directly to the developer. I have done so in the past- never got what I wanted but you could get lucky ;)

But you did know there was a very long and involved werewolf quest in the current DAO game right? Why don't you give that one a try and see what you think? That way when you make your suggestions, you can make one that directly links to the werewolf lore and that can be an implementable idea- though whether or not a developer picks it up would be their call.

@ Panda: There's plans to perhaps bundle the best mods for consoles, as well, I think.

I am pretty sure there was a long interview with one of the founders about at least looking into it, yes.

Pandathief- The Dragon Age origins (the one that will be released next month) has a very long and involved quest involving Werewolves. To say more would be a spoiler, but you will get to encounter them, see how they work in this lore...learn about them...

Then when you make your suggestion, it can resonate more with developers. It is one thing to say- put in werewolves, but if you can write why they make sense based on the lore- I think you'll be making a stronger case.

Oh my goodness, Bloodmoon was great! I tink that's what the expansion was called, I didn't follow the thread so I don't know what's occured but back to the OP I'd say you can never say never, it's entirely possible something like this might come out as a DLC if it's a popular request. I've only popped in and out of these forums so my feel for how close Bioware is to their community ( I think it's fairly close..) is a bit limited but if I look back to other companies of games I know that if players want something bad enough sometimes it becomes available.

So I'd throw this in the suggestion box and hope something comes out of it officially, of course for us PC users we don't entirely have to depend on the devs but not everyone has that luxury.

Also I'd like not to be referred to as "That guy who defended you..." becuase you know who I am. Also, if you think I'm wrong, you could tell me that instead of acting like I'm not here. Being ignored is as insulting as anything else IB.

I apologize. I was writing it when they announced my flight, and did not have the chance to look your name up. I was planning to write another message to you on these boards when I landed.

Eh its no biggie. :)

I count at least two personal insults in this post, but because your a long upstanding member no one's going to report you are they?

I certainly can't blame you if you did, I got a bit riled up when I wrote what I wrote and I took a bit of frustration out on PandaThief that she probably didn't need. Sorry PandaThief, I take back the mean things I said, but I still feel you jump to conclusions a bit hurridly, but I could have put that in a much nicer way.

Thanks for being calm minded and not picking a specific side in the conflict that arose, elijah, but for taking the high road and calmly explaining the misunderstandings on each side and for spotting and pointing out my hypocrazy. You're an upstanding person and I appreciate that. It's a good trait.

It may help PandaThief, if you try to calm down a bit, when you're awfully defensive, your emotions rile up and then other peoples emotions rile up with you and then we all go into misunderstandings. I understand you are a bit paranoid, there are a lot of freaks out there, especially for you young people.

Just try to think of most of us as good guys, it might put the light on the situation differently next time.

Sorry it came to what it did.

I love that I explained how werewolves could fit into DA lore and everyone ignored it. Much better to focus on the ****fest, I guess.

Werewolves.

In Ferelden, we're told, many believe that werewolves are people who can shape from wolf to human after being bitten by a wolf. However, again the developers have told us this, werewolves are a 'true' race that seem to be the children of rage demon possessed wolves.

Does this mean that you can't have a mod where someone is cursed and becomes a shape-shifting werewolf? Of course not, because the characters in the setting can’t read developer posts.

There is magic to turn a human to a wolf and back again – yes.
You can curse people in this setting – yes.
If a person is cursed to change from human to wolf because of certain conditions (anger, night, full moon), the people of Ferelden will call that person a werewolf and they’ll believe themselves to be so – yes.

Hm. Your right, that is a good explaination.

apologize for taking the focus off of it. I'd reply with something from the lore but I don't study up on that, I'd rather exprience it in the game, so, um, guess I'm just saying sorry.

Is it such a fest when everyone is just apologizing to eachother?

It is kind of a hard subject to discuss fully until the game is released though, when we truly learn how DA werewolves "work", though that's no big barrier for custom modules, really.

At least I'll die at the hands of someone with hair, while I always suspected it'd be a fat, bald burly guy. With back-hair like a werewolf. And teeth like a Canadian hockey player. From Dragon Age.

What I'm trying to say is that you switched away from your super-snazzy new avatar to a Jade Empire avatar with horrible resolution. Special occasion?

I know its not the same as wolves but the Shapeshifter specialization might be fun for you. And who knows maybe it can have a wolf added to it.
