I count at least two personal insults in this post, but because your a long upstanding member no one's going to report you are they?

I certainly can't blame you if you did, I got a bit riled up when I wrote what I wrote and I took a bit of frustration out on PandaThief that she probably didn't need. Sorry PandaThief, I take back the mean things I said, but I still feel you jump to conclusions a bit hurridly, but I could have put that in a much nicer way.

Thanks for being calm minded and not picking a specific side in the conflict that arose, elijah, but for taking the high road and calmly explaining the misunderstandings on each side and for spotting and pointing out my hypocrazy. You're an upstanding person and I appreciate that. It's a good trait.

It may help PandaThief, if you try to calm down a bit, when you're awfully defensive, your emotions rile up and then other peoples emotions rile up with you and then we all go into misunderstandings. I understand you are a bit paranoid, there are a lot of freaks out there, especially for you young people.

Just try to think of most of us as good guys, it might put the light on the situation differently next time.

Sorry it came to what it did.

"I understand you are a bit paranoid, there are a lot of freaks out there, especially for you young people"

Oh thankz for calling me a freak there. Im not that offended since my, traits seems to give it off that way but yea lol.

Damn guys now im thinking of being a mage, there is nothing wrong with mages just never liked them but if it would be the closest thing to becoming a werewolf (well wolf anyways) than ill do it, maybe for my 3rd playthru tho lol.

What class and origin are you all gonna be again?

Oh oh thankz for calling me a freak....Your quote was good till it hit that point

He was not calling YOU a freak, Panda. he is saying that it is understandable that you are paranoid given the freaks out there in the e-universe.

not quite sure why everybody flipped out on here. PandaThief was merely stating what she thought was a good idea.

Uh....generally the rule goes that you feel strongly about something you belive in......otherwise why would you belive in something that you did not feel strongly in.

What people need to realize that, true this is a public forum, and flaming is against the form CoC, but a little competition (Mages vs Rogues) as long as it does not get out of hand can be fun.

I personally think that it would be kinda cool if you could become werewolf. Sure i would rather just be the one that has to go an hunt it down ;) But nonetheless PandaThief brought up an interesting thought. What animals are you able to shape-shift into.

Im not sure i like the thought of being able to shift into the offspring of Shelob, and why the darkspawn would be afriad of it, when they have ogres and dragon and all matter of dark creatures.

On a lighter note, i vote making a mod where you can shape shift into Big Bird from sesame street

Saying something at this point seems pointless, so let's just call it water under the bridge.

And not goat over the bridge.

Maybe its just me, but my opinion is that Chivalry is not dead.

Besides, this is a forum concerning a video game, of which im sure all of us are varying degrees of fanatics. So one could call us all "freaks".

What they dont know is they are the one's not in their right minds!!!!!!!!

VIDEOGAMES RULE THE WOLRD!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed that the Bioware community seems a little more tight-knit than other gaming communities. That probably has a lot to do with it as well

I personally have never understood the facsination for werewolves. You turn into a wild beast that uncontrollable sets off to rip people into small pieces... At least that's my defenition of werewolves, based on the old european folklore.
I know knowadays various films and books and whatnot has werewolves that to various extent can control themselves, both regarding their shapeshifting and their rage in wolf-form, wich I guess makes them a bit more "likeable". But I always will associate werewolfs with the kind I first described and because of that I'll never like them. But that's me and I'm not gonna tell others what to like.

As allready stated in this thread, the lore in Thedas suggests that werewolfs can shapeshift between wolf and human form. So who knows, maybe that myth will turn out to be true in some adventure, either in DA:O or in future content.
However, the werewolfs that in fact IS in the game, are neither wolfs turned into humans nor humans turned into wolves, they are werewolves with a unique werewolf look/shape and asfaik they have no shapeshifting abilities. Playing such a creature as your PC in the game would kinda make the game unplayable, as you in fact would be a monster that most people either would run away from or try to kill on sight. Hmm, when i think about it, i guess that won't be so much different from playing as a regular character...Image IPB

I don't know about the concept of lycanthropy (ie, getting hurt by a werewolf will eventually turn you into one) in DA:O, but IIRC I read something about the werewolf quest that suggested something at least similar to it. But i would need some dev post or other official source to confirm that.

What I'm trying to say is, I guess, that for being able to play as a werewolf the myth of shapeshifting werewolfs in Thedas would have to be confirmed as true, as playing as the werewolf type that now is presented in the game would make the game a completely different game. It would be a werewolf game, and not a be-a-grey-warden-and-save-the-wold game.

One of the strenghts of DA:O I think is the extencive background lore and that much of it is presented as myth and old tales rather than confirmed facts. I guess some things we will eventually find out in-game if they're true or not. Personally I hope the shapeshifting werewolves won't be one of them. But if you like werewolves you can always hope for the contrary.
