But I can't pretend I didn't feel a little snubbed. I think the majority of gamers who turned from the old LIs felt hurt or cast out. You know? They felt like they were left with no other choices but these new LIs if they wanted love in their game at all, because their old LIs acted so distant.
Most of us were left standing there after our reunion with our LI like, "Uh... wtf?"

What are you going to do come ME3, when your ME2 LI gets some crappy little cameo and your old ME1 flame is in your party, looking for love?

HAH. Exactly. I don't expect that most of the ME2 team will return as recruitable squadmates anyways. They are likely to be cameo destined.

Even though I don't want that to happen to anyone's favorite characters, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing some of the ME2 crew again, it would definitely give me a certain amount of satisfaction if that happens. :P

I think I would have a hard time hiding my evil grin and snicker in delight to all the "Noooooo my Miranda" screams. But I would not be surprised if they spit us in the face again and did write out all ME1 characters.

Yeah, I agree. Though, I would still have to say that if they WERE reduced to cameos, they better be good ones. I liked the characters from ME2, (even Zaeed. I don't know what people don't like about him besides the lack of actual controllable conversations on the Normandy) so if we see most/all of the ME2 squadmates as cameos in ME3, I want them to be really fleshed out and good.

Now, if they write out the ME1 crew entirely... I will lose a great deal of respect for BW, I tell you that much. It'll forever change my Mass Effect experience :(

EDIT: Sorry for the wall of quotes. But they are all relavent to the convo...

You mean you thought ME3 was going to be a Tali dating sim? *gasp* But but but the combat and the shooter and the heavy weapons and the dark and the edgy...

I have two complete ME2 playthroughs now. One plays along with Liara. The other one gives up on her. My new character is doing the same. I am really fed up with the way BioWare handled this in ME2. I have not found an interesting LI in ME2 to replace Liara. So, I have to wait until ME3 (or a DLC) to break up with her.

I romanced her in ME1 with my male Shepard. There was no other choice...however she's nuts now so I dumped her for Tali. When she finds out will she flay me with her mind?

Oh lord... I'll laugh my arse off if the April's fool joke is that Bioware announces a Mass Effect 2 spinoff. Mass Effect Love Affairs. A complete dating sim for Mass Effect. It will have full of minigames like playing volleyball (allusion to DoA Beach Volleyball). So if that is what Bioware was planning.. I know it is coming.... think of something else!

Also you know they can't get rid of Miranda.. if they do.. she just send Chuck against them.... oh man that was bad.... even by my standards.

I'd buy that and love every moment of it. But only if they call it Mass Effect: Spectre of Love. Image IPB

"Ah yes, 'Romance.' We've dismissed that claim."

Um... you have standards?

It looks like it.  They left the ME1 relationships ambiguous.

My #1 super-duper Infiltrator Shepard is staying faithful to Liara and I have one Shepard that was single in ME1 that is trying to woo Jack in ME2.   There will be no heartbreak on my ME3 Normanday (at least that I can control ;)).

I think Liara is still quite naive and giving the fact of Asari living for centuries she maybe thought 2 or three years of a pause doesn't matter to a relationship. However for humans 2 years is quite a time. The alternatives on the ship are quite poor. I don't like Miranda and Jack and the only alternatives are the councelor and Tali. I liked all about the Tali story but after some time it did not develped anymore :(

I also would not call it cheating because no one ever told me what she did for me and how I really ended up with Cerberus. As there is no option in the game to win her back there are no bad feelings about continouing the romance with Tali in ME3

Liara tells you all of this.

You don't have to win her back if you haven't lost her.  In my eyes, the Shepard/Liara relationship is still on going, but just at a troubled moment.

I actually doubt that very many, if any at all, of the previous 2 crews will be squad mates.  This is BW, they don't do continuing stories.  They have a set formula for how they introduce new characters and they seem to want to stick to that.

I would expect at most 2 or 3 returns with all the rest of the crew finding cameo roles if they are not important to the story of ME3 and NPC quest giver type roles if they are.

We'll probably get like Jacob, Mordin, and Garrus possibly on the team, everyone else will be off doing "important" stuff.

I think we will have all the squadmates we had in ME 2 - the ones who died. Also Bioware did state that the ME 1 sqaudmates that didn't return in ME 2 would get an important role in ME 3?

If we wouldn't have those, what was really the point of building that team, and against the reapers we will need alot of skilled people, so i think there will be alot of squadmates in ME 3, perhaps even some new ones. However, this is just my specculation.

On a side note, the reason why my Shepard moved on to Tali was because Liara wasn't the same, she was exactly everything that my Shepard fought against. Shes not  a bad character, it's just that as a character she took a turn that wouldn't fit for my Shepard.
