Anoras: "What do you want?"
Me: "the sacrifices of the wardens should not be forgotten."
Anora: "I will build a monument for Alistair and the rest of those who fell aiding fereldan."
WTF? (this is my 4th playthough, never chose Anora before..)
I don't care if I have 3 with him alive, I am not playing if he is dead... Lol
UGHHHH

Was he alive at the end of the game? The endings are a bit buggy, from what I've read (though I've not yet had any issues like this).
well, apparently not.. i got the US achievement.. I screwed morrigan to make the baby, though......

If Alistair delivered the final blow then yes, he's dead...
If you did the ultimate sacrifice then you can't talk to Anora in the epilogue...
If you did the ritual with Morrigan then you won't get the Ultimate Sacrifice...
Sounds like your game is bugged.

I just replayed two endings where Anora is queen and grants the warden boon. She says that line regardless of whether Alistair is alive or if he sacrificed himself. So unless Alistair isn't in his usual spot in the post-coronation celebration then your game is fine.
He is not there.. Neother is the arl od redcliffe

Sorry then your game is bugged. Alistair should be there. Arl Eamon only shows up if Alistair is king.
I looked everywhere, but where does non-king alistar shoe up? I can only see my dwarven assistant, the queen, sten, ogren, and wynne.
should he be where he is when he is king?

I think that if you do the ritual with Morrigan, but you DON'T take her with you to fight the Archdemon, then your character dies in the ultimate sacrifice. I've never tried it myself, but once, after all that, I left her at the gates in Denerim (just to see what the dialogue would be) and she says, "After all that and you're not taking me with you?" I think she has to be there with the Archdemon for her child to capture its soul and save yours. If not then I guess the whole ritual ends up being moot. But, as I said, I've never done it in a full capacity, so I don't know for certain.

Yea Alistair dies has to have been the SUCKIEST ending ever for me. I really like the guy and got the achievement but I will never go that route again. The behavior of everyone AFTER the battle just upset me. Having a freaking party when one of your companions is dead. And the only one that even mentions him is Wynne in a passing "the poor boy" comment.

So did I. The ending where there's no acknowledgement of his sacrifice from party members and especially no grand funeral to honor that sacrifice was unworthy of him. He deserved better than that, I think.

No, she doesn't have to be with you. I played it through like that once, where I'd done the ritual but left her at the gates, just to see what would happen. The ritual works, whether she's in attendance or not.

Agreed. It felt so awful for them to be cheering me when he had sacrificed himself. I would have preferred a funeral scene for him, or SOME kind of acknowledgement. It's almost as though the kingdom wants to forget him as quickly as possible.

I thought Eamon was standing next to Anora and the Revered Mother at Anora's coronation.

Actually, bringing Morrigan isn't necessary.
But perhaps he could try bringing Alistair with him the next time... Perhaps the fact that he is staying in the gate is what is causing the bug.

Anyway, Anora then says something interesting to Alistair, something in the way of: Thankyou. I would not have shown you the same mercy.
So there you possibly have it. An unmarried Anora has Alistair assassinated, if he survives, and then blames the battle.

Yup, I hate that ending. Did it once - never again.
