I'd be interested in watching Tali's mission with Legion, interesting that they give you enough time.

Also wanted to see how you dealt with the Terminator with the Engineer. (Unless of course he just firebombs all the collectors like in your adept run.)

Thank you for making these videos. They're incredibly well made and very, very useful. I'm telling you, you could earn some cash with these :P

With these in particular, I actually can't. As much as I'd love to shove ads all over the page to get some pocket change, I'm using copyrighted material. In fact,  EA at any time could take down every single one of my videos and delete my account by complaining to youtube. They aren't going to do that though because its in there interest that people make videos of their game. Free publicity.

Every time I rave about how awesome Zaeed is, that's another reminder to used game owners that they can get him through cerberus network.

I wasn't thinking about ads when i said that, more like pitching the videos to a gaming website like gametrailers or IGN and get a part time job doing video walkthroughs. Kind of a longshot, but who knows right? :P

 Videos have returned:

Suicide Mission;

Part 1 / Legion, Thane, Squad Shredder

I took thanes squad shredder instead of unstable warp because I was trying to get away from reliance on biotic combos for the end mission. An all biotics team is the optimum choice, but a team with weapon heavy hitters, specifically snipers like Zaeed, Garrus, Thane, and Legion, and Grunt, can somewhat make up the difference with good ammo powers and/or good guns.

 Suicide Mission:
Part 2 / Husk Rush, Jack's Shockwave vs Platforms

A couple notes: I made the mistake of pushing shepard too far forward, instead of letting my allies go on ahead, during the husk rush. It almost costs me. So don't be impatient, set down grunt in cover but in front of you, and don't let yourself get surrounded like me.

On the plus side, Jack's fully upgraded shockwave is amazing on the collector platforms. I believe she was responsible for at least 4 or 5 kills in that section. Also, I finally use legions widow, and it works out quite well with the squad warp ammo provided by jack.

If you hadn't made those videos I wouldn't have been able to get through insanity with my engineer. Thanks.

I've been watching your videos since the Adept ones and i just wanted to thank you for taking the time to do them. They're very informative and detailed and, specifically, this ones made me want to start a new ME2 playthrough with the Engineer. I'm also following your Dragon Age videos and they're great as well. So, uhh, thanks and keep up the good work.

I know this seems like a stupid thing to ask, but if I chose to use Engineer Sheppard, Legion, and Tali, would a 3 explosive drone spam team work?

Quality as usual, making it look easy.

Well, it would work, but you'd have to cast them all on different targets. Explosive drone doesn't do friendly fire damage to other explosive drones. But if you set it up in such a way that they can all be killed quickly, then it could work. Example: Set explosive drone on harbinger, and then set the other two on nearby collectors. Harbinger may kill the explosive drone with his AOE move, but if the others are nearby, all 3 will detonate.

If all three are on harbinger, he may be so cc'd that he can't even move. Then again, maybe not. I think its better to simply use your tempest on the barrier and then some HP headshots on him, and use your drones to occupy those assassins and guardians.

Thanks for the vids. Will you be a male Shepard in any of your future videos? I was going to request, but it sounds like you already have some recorded.

My soldier guide and my mass effect 1 guides will have male sheps (renegade). Also my adept videos feature a male shepard (hard to tell under all that dragon armor)

Suicide Mission:
Part 3 / The Final Boss

Well, thats the end of the story for the engineer. If their are still portions of the game you'd like to see, let me know and I'll consider putting them in at some later date. For now, I'm going to be focusing on my Mass Effect 1 guide/Dragon Age guide and the occasional soldier video.

However, I still have some things planned for the engineer on my new blog you can check out here: http://averagegatsby.blogspot.com/

That boss fight is way too easy, i had more trouble fighting through the whole level than the Terminator. Still, that was cool, it seems the Engineer is an interesting class to play and more powerful than i thought.

Btw, about the other guides, will you be creating a thread for them in their respective forums?

Yes but not right away. I have the DAO guide posted in the forums right now but I don't have the ME1 guide. I'm going to wait until after I'm done with the first 2 eden prime videos, which should be today.

I'm also doing a firewalker guide/walkthrough. Not that one is really needed, more like a "I want to do the firewalker missions Fast" guide.

I have to check out those ME1 videos of yours. Not really fond of its gameplay (the ME2 is better, imo) but it's nice to see how other people play the game. Also, just found your DAO guide thread. Really looking forward to watch your next videos.

So I made a leveling guide/guidelines post on my blog. Basically its a compilation of what I've said in the videos into a written format. I think I'll ad the posting to the OP as well.

Link:

I've also got my entire engineering the asylum playlist embedded at the bottom. Too bad you can't turn up the resolution from the blog page, but I figured it would be a good link.

That's a really cool blog.  Just watched your Mega Man Street Fighter video too.  I used to be crazy addicted to Virtua Fighter 2!

Edit:  Decided it would be more productive to actually master martial arts in RL than Virtua Fighter 2 since they both have/had the same amount of depth to fighting in them.  Never did though...

Currently working my Insanity Engineer run; on the "disabled" collector ship trying to figure out what weapon class to add.  Originally I was going to add the Viper, just as Gatsby did, yet now I'm not so sure.  I've kept a save right before the choice, and have played through the following platform battles a few times (trying the Viper, Eviscerator, and Vindicator).  My party consists of Thane and Jack (squad warp ammo).

I just can't decide for the life of me which weapon to take.  I understand Gatsby's reasoning for the Viper, but I found I just cleared the platforms faster and easier with the Eviscerator.  Still i don't know how well that represents what weapon I will be wanting/needing to have on this Engineer for the rest of the game.  Decisions, decisions... any experienced opinions would be helpful

I would try every weapon in every class if you're that unsure. The Viper may provide stellar DPS, but the Mantis provides faster burst damage. The Eviscerator is a very good shotgun, but has a low capacity compared to the others. If you want the range of a sniper but the burst of a shotgun, I'd recommend the Vindicator. Sure, it doesn't beat out snipers and shotguns in their respective ranges, but it is versatile and has one of the fastest kill speeds on normal in the game. Plus, it's easier to aim.

5 minutes ago I completed my insanity all-engineer playthrough. Tali and Legion/Mordin where the only squadmates I used (as soon as I could use them), I didn't use any bonus powers or heavy weapons. All of that possible thanks to this thread. :) I didn't believe in the engineer class untill I saw the videos and tried if myself.

And man, 3 drones at the same time are a sight to behold...
