Okay, something doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I missed something. But, Lithe ran only like 15 feet away from Ashley and that area was filled with Collecters starting their collection process. So, how the heck did Ashley not get grabbed? If she wasnt near Lithe, who was caught, I could understand her getting overlooked in the 2/3 the collectors left behind. But, she was at the zone where harbringer started.

Logistically you would probably want to start where the most resources are located which means in the center of the settlement. And Ash/Kaiden were stasis'd at the edge of the settlement. Also, it's not like they just carry the people to their ship, they use their people carry thingies which makes it logistically a bit more complex.

It's a plot device.

I guess you could logically say that. Even if Lithe was 15 feet away, it could have been far enough. But...as TIM hinted...they kind of attack Horizon because Ashley (who is connected to Shepard) was there. If Harbringer himself, who has an interest in Shepard and those connected to him - was 15 feet away from her....how id he not make sure to grab her?

Well Lilith only get's liquified as you arrive at the collector base, as there are no other survivours from the colony and she was the last to get smoothied, it figures she was the last taken. It then follows that Kaidan/Ash being fractionally further out were in the incredibly lucky position of being next in line. Of course Shep shows up to stop that from happening. Remember only half of the colony got taken so it was only a 50/50 chance that they would have got abducted.
As for being where they started I suspect there were more than one group at work it just showed you the one where Kaidan/Ash was for effect.

Harbinger had no idea that he was going to get interrupted, there were a lot of people to sort through and as they were in stasis, prob figured he pick out the important one later. Remeber he wanted all the humans for his new reaper, it would be easier to pick him out on the ship rather than find one in a few thousand and then collect the other few thousand anyway.

Alright alright. Again, all good thoughts. I was just playing the game for the fifth time and finally wanted to ask. It just seems off to me. *shrugs* Still does. But, thanks for the answers.

I would really like to know how she survived as well. And I agree that this was just a plot device. I think it would have been far more interesting for Ashley/Kaiden to have been taken. It would have given Shepard and the players a real sense of urgency to track down the Collectors. And at the end when Shepard saves his crew, there should have been 1or 2 colonists along with Ashley/Kaiden. This would have made for a much better reunion to the one we experience on Horizon.

The reapers know of Shepard and team's meddling... they might have wanted that character alive on purpose.

Its simply a plot device, no matter what excuse you or i or anyone can come up with none of them really make sense, not only does Ash/kaiden who supposedly are the reason behind the attack on that particular colony not taken but they also manage to convieniantly come out of stasis with no explanation why they are able to do so.
The simple reason is that if Ash/Kaiden are taken then you can't have that scene on horizon or the e-mail later, so they fudged over it in order to allow that to happen. Just like the convieniant way everyone boards the shuttle to allow your crew be taken before the suicide mission, its a plot hole that's badly explained.

If you watch that scene closely, the area Ash/Kaiden get frozen seems to be the area where you find the Collector Particle Beam.
Since you find other stasis'd colonists there, it seems to me that they just got lucky. The collectors seem to have taken people from other areas, but were still in progress in that particular area. Now, the real question is why (assuming my thoughts on location are correct) is why you don't see them when you're making you're through the vicinity

I just assumed they were in the process of loading Ashley aboard (since she's closer to the Collector ship than where she was in the cutscene) and stopped when Shep started ripping their troops a new one.
