I mean, sure, it was a surprise when BioWare announced that their new expansion would be entirely combat-free. I get that's why some of you ****** who don't have the stones to join the military and fight REAL battles play these games, but just get over it already. I, personally, don't care about combat, and what *I* care about it is the only thing that matters, as the world revolves around me. Just let BioWare tell a damn story without demanding that you be able to kill something every few minutes. If you want a fight, go to the local bar and shout insults at the biggest guy there, but for the love of everything please stop projecting your bloodlust at the rest of us.

*this* is funny :D

This thread is so full of win and approval. Strangely none of it involving the original posting.

Not really, Cutlass Jack. A lot of people agree with the OP, and approve of a romanceble Jesus.

This. Best answer to a ridiculous thread.

"No romances" is for me the deciding reason not to pre-order the add-on. Not even primarily because of their absence per se, but because I personally interpret that as a sign that BioWare cut corners to push the add-on out of the door, so that in effect I don't think the result will be worth the price to me. I will of course read trustworthy reviews, and then decide if and when to purchase this expansion.

From a development standpoint, it is a step back not to have them.

For a moment I thought DA went in a whole nother direction and a la Dan Brown decided to do a romance w/ a PC and Andraste or something.

Instead i see you have open a thread to whine......about whiners? Aren't you bright?

Maybe the baby from Jesus romance can fight the Morrigan demon baby in Dragon Age 3.

Well I guess my issue is with the idea of being really frustrated with the expansion due to a lack of romances. There *is* an unfair amount of outrage about that. Of course I'm not harping on you if that was one of your favorite parts of the game; it was one of mine, too. It seems shallow if you're posting like "WHERE IZ THE SECKS" and disparaging the game because it doesn't have it. It's childish.

Jesus doesn't call you after the first date, too.

It's always nice when an RPG includes romances but, for me, it's hardly a make or break feature.

Why not? He loves you. All you have to do is love him back and bam, +100 approval.

If I romance Jesus, does that mean he can cure me of my taint? I mean, he can turn water to wine, cure leprosy and blindness, and raise the dead, surely the taint is not beyond his ability to cure?

Banter also could be removed.I mean they're worthless story wise. Also Leliana/Morrigan/Sten/Oghren and every personnal quest could be removed. They're worthless and mean nothing to the main story .. Also remove every side quest and every interaction with NPC.

Hell remove every codex entry .. They're worthless..

Ok back to the reality. They tell a story in a fantasy world that they created.Interaction/friendship and romance it's one of the thingies that make the world more believable and immersive for many player. That one of the reason i purchase bioware product since baldur gates.

You know they could basicly remove every damn romance in every damn book and movies.

Go play Diablo.

Get over it, guys.  I'm a self professed RPG nerd; I love Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, Fallout, etc.  But oh my GOD stop whining about the lack of romances in the game.  Let Bioware tell a damn story without attaching your own sexual frustrations to it, for god's sake.  Find a balance within your lives.  Go to a party, have sex, get a a girlfriend, but for the love of everything just stop projecting this...bewildering rage onto Bioware for daring to hinder your masturbation fodder.

yeaaaaaaa, cyber advice from a 13 year old!
Always so much fun!

Anyone else bored of seeing these 13 year olds advice statements like quoted one?
I say 13 years old cause thats what you gotta be mentally to miss the fact that some folks LIKE RPG romances. The grand romance is a liturary staple in fiction and fantasy as much (if not more) as any epic battle or encounter in a story.

Maybe BeckShort should go read a book (lord forbid), watch a epic movie, see a play, ROMANCE is almost always a issue in these literary devices and plots.

A RPG, In case this new concept to you Shoirt stuff, is a INTERACTIVE STORY! In DA:O case its a FANTASY STORY and FANTASY almost always has (well the good ones anyways) romance as a main plot line.

Stop talking like you know about dating and sex (with actual women) and what not online and think about it. Those killer Lord of Rings movies, well romance was a big part of them.

Star Wars? Romance again was a big part of it

Star Trek? Kirk is famous for sleeping with aliens from one side of the known galaxy to the other.

Or on the off chance you read stuff more involved the "Sponge Bob Square pants", pretty much and grand story from Frankenstein to Dracula to Porkies Revenge involve romance and sex of some sort.

So how about rather then coming online and cyber preeching your need for more killing because you have yet to actually kiss a girl, you stop assuming you know whats best for other people! People want romance in their RPGs because its ADDS TO THE STORY! RPG isnt all about hacking and slashing. Diablo 3 comes out this year if thats the game you looking for. DA:O is a Role Playing Game set in a FANTASY setting and romance plays a big part in traditional fantasy stories.

Amazes me how many children now a days just think its all about bloodlust and nothing else.
A.D.D. crowd is a appropriate name let me say.
Appearently they have no imaginations and are void of emotions of any type.
Worst part is this kid, after posting this, probably popped a zit and hammered out a quicky into his awaiting hand feeling all proud of hiself for spelling masterbation online.
Rather sad if you think about it

Seconded. But remember Dragon Age is a dark rpg. It's about struggling with moral dilemmas and lots of blood, blood everywhere. I think it's perfectly understandale that there wouldn't be romance. Now if it were high fantasy, then it would be inexcusable.

Ah, the condescending troll that can't do anything else than trying to analyze people he doesn't know by (wrongly) linking the request for a kind of storytelling with alleged personal real life problem.

The only one that needs to get over himself and his sense of condescending superiority, sir, is you, even because the ones that lack real life entertainement are normally the ones that go out for their way to post this kind of whiny threads on games' forums.
