@Mesecina Heh, I think this is obvious proof that the contest enters it's final round. You even went to the length of providing your group with a professional promotional picture. Image IPB  Which looks really good by the way. Is drumming up business like that in line with the contest rules? If so, I might have to cobble something together as well. Image IPB

Hehe well the truth is I did that one for dragonagecentral.com contest as a part that in the end evolved into a collage (sadly quite far from what I imagined the whole project to be due to being very pressed for time and unable to fit backstories in nicely).

So since I already had it I thougt I'd share it here too :)

Well I actually did some experimenting in Photoshop yesterday with the screenshot of my human noble Hanik which I had entered in the contest so I might share that one as well. Even though it's just him and not the whole group. ;-)

The bigger version of this looks a lot better though imo:

@DalishRanger Please don't worry about the glitches. I my opinion they don't really impair the pics very much. Also some people here have unfortunately provided us only with very small screens, which makes it a bit difficult to recognize their character's faces. And I prefer your big nice screens over those small thumbnailish ones any day (even with a glitch in them) so don't worry. :-) Also your characters certainly live up to their portrait pics. Fasais looks absolutely amazing! You went for a pretty unique look here with that crooked nose and the full lips and it harmonizes perfectly with his dark skin and that feral, wild look. Other highlights include Dalag with his distinguished dwarvish looks and Legam. That wry look in his first picture practically screams for a speech bubble with some witty annotation. ;-)

D'aaaw, thanks.  <3 I really would love to get into character design/concept art as a profession, so drawing and designing characters is one of my favorites things to do, whether in a game's character creator or on a piece of paper. I'm always very happy when people like my designs/concepts. =]

If I ever think of a good witty crack, I'll probably Photoshop that pic of Legam and upload the result. :D

Nice work on the Photoshopping job of Hanik, by the way! Simple effects, but excuted well!

You are welcome. Just being honest here. :-) There are few characters around here that I really don't like. But there are few that immediately leap out to me. Those are in most cases the ones that I can associate some specific personality traits with. A character may be good looking but if he/she arouses interest in his/her story and what he/she is all about then that is a job well done.

Yeah, if you come up with a good line for him, go ahead and share it with us. :-)

Thanks. Well I'm certainly no Photoshop expert. I know just a few basic things but thankfully there is the internet and people who post tutorials. The background was definitely a pain in the a... Took a lot of playing around with the filters and sliders of the different layers until it looked decent.

Nice group montage! Photoshop? Anyway, it's pretty cool!

I really recommend using the img tag within the editor to pull in pics.  It's a lot easier to see what people are talking about than incessently following links :)

Everyone keeps complimenting my dwarven noble, however I dislike her the most :pinched: I might put her up for adoption given all the love people show for her.

Figured I'd try and get involved in this:

social.bioware.com/5059/albums/16419

as it stands, I've only really managed to connect with a couple of the characters enough to flesh them out, hence, the group is a bit "incomplete" in terms of back-story ;p

@Linarc I don't know if you already tried this but if you press ALT+Print in the CC you should be able to go to a graphics editing tool like Paint or Photoshop and paste it into a new file/sheet. Maybe this option works for you. :-)

thanks! it worked! I just clicked on the print screen button and nothing happened at all, but now I can paste it on other programs! now, time to work Image IPB

My human noble came out as a red cross, re-uploaded and it was still corrupted. Will have to re-create her and get her up later.

Yes, thanks again, I had no idea I had to do this in the CC, because I could do it in the "normal" way with everything else. Now, I officially present you my selected group (put the portrait in it as well, but if it can't be done as well, just tell me). They are all serious and looking a bit to the side because of luminosity (I cleared it a bit on photoshop as well). I think it is it.

My chosen characters

ah, and I saw some albuns here, people are doing a great work! I'll see if I do some review about them later.

Updated the team album, for the last time. Please check again.

Nice new albums have been posted! It's great to see all these creations! And strangely, it seems that the teams each have their own spirit, as if reflecting the tastes of each creator! It's nice to browse the albums!

I think Aeria is really cool and dezdemona is angry and resented, she certainly isn't the happiest person to have around.

They were the ones I liked the most

... Okay, my computer is weird. Last time I tried updating the drivers and restarting, the graphical glitches remained. Just for the heck of it, I tried restarting the computer one more time... And it seemed to work! The glitches are gone! Why it took two restarts, I have no clue. I'm not going to complain, though. In any case, I've removed the old glitchy files and uploaded nice, cleaner images - and at least 5 of each character. You can find the whole album here, but I'll post my favorite expressions of each below:

Image IPB
Dalag, male noble dwarf warrior. Changed his beard; I imagine him as fairly young, but responsible for his age... So I went with a slightly less dense beard as a sort of indicator of youth, but hopefully still carrying a feeling of some maturity. The creases on his face are more from stress than from age.

Image IPB
Eileia, female city elf rogue (later bard). I love the bemused/amused look here. She's pretty friendly, but cautious around humans; usually, she avoids them or bends to their wishes, but the events of the city elf origin story will probably make her take a bit less crap from them afterwards.

Image IPB
Fasais, male dalish elf rogue (later ranger), and my avatar. I uploaded about double for him than the others, because he's (obviously) my favorite. Hard to narrow it down for this post, but I don't want to completely spam this page, heh. :D He's fairly calm, relatively laid back... He has strong opinions and beliefs, but he usually keeps them to himself unless pressed or he really feels the need to speak out. A skilled hunter and archer, he makes an excellent tracker, and will probably be both fascinated by cities and unfomfortable in them.

Image IPB
Gwen, female noble human warrior. She's probably my favorite of the females; not over-strikingly beautiful, but not quite plain, either. She's disciplined in her skills, and fairly mature, but still retains a playful side. She's a bit of a biggot with elves, but she doesn't hate them; just because they're "lesser" creatures, doesn't mean they should be as mistreated as they often are.

Image IPB
Legam, male human mage. He's my next favorite after Fasais. I imagine him to be a slightly playful, gentle sort; he hates fighting, but will blast enemies back with magic if he must. He'll probably be the most compassionate of my characters, due to his relatively sheltered life. He'll probably be the most educated too, even more so than the nobles. He's a bookish sort.

Image IPB
Yenni, female commoner dwarf rogue. The least friendly of my characters, though she's loyal to those who earn her trust. She's not outright maliscious - just jaded and sarcastic and rather mistrusting of strangers.

Enderion, your group is quite attractive, but you're supposed to have two humans (a noble and mage), two elves (any combination of dalish, city and mage) and two dwarves (a commoner and a noble), while representing each gender per race. You have one too many elf males and don't have a dwarven female, and your humans are both nobles. ^_^;

I totally love your dwarven commoner, Saurel. She is way unique and pretty.

brilliant character. Reminds me of Anomen, albeit an older, darker, far more sun-battered version ;p

*gasps* OH my HOLY FREAKING COW... she looks EXACTLY like a friend of mine. EXACTLY. Her hair is short and feathery and blonde, though. But that is absolutely EERIE how much she looks like Elien. Holy CRAP. The tips of the eyebrows and the tilt to them, the size and shape of those blue eyes, the shape and length of the nose, the coloring, the mouth... that is SO UNCANNY! I swear, it's like looking at a ghost. Wow!!

Also, your Dalish Elf is extremely gorgeous and original.

Heh, now that you mention it, I can kinda of see it, though that wasn't my intent. Never used Anomen much, as I almost always played it as a male, and he's kind of annoying if you're not female. Legam's got less of Anomen's cocky/judgemental side and more of his polite features that you usually only see if you're romancing the cleric. :P

 Really? I had no one in particular in mind when I made her; I only thought of Celtic women, and that's about it.

Thank you. =] I was going more for a Native American feel, since that's what the Dalish remind me of most - northeastern tribes.

Yeah, how do we close the contest BTW? Each one votes for his favourites (excluding his own creations) ? Do we vote on Wednesday?

On wednesday we will close for entries and people will get a day to nominate 3 albums - after the 3 albums are found i will open a new topic and we will make a standard poll for a day to find the winner.

Woop! I think it's high time for me to start browsing the albums to find my favorites!

Last minute challenger, this is your last warning! Post promptly your groups!:police:
