WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD. Skip to the end for my final picks, but first I just want to give props to everyone who did this. I'm completely blown away by some of the work in this thread. It's too hard to just mention 3 (or 5), so I'll start off by highlighting some that really stood out for me in each category (myself excluded of course)...

In my opinion, these people all succeeded in creating the best and most interesting teams of 6:

From that last group, my favorites were picked based on:

INDIVIDUALITY - 'It is not a "pretty" contests but more of an "whos got the best group of individuals" kind of contest.'
PERSONALITY - faces and expressions that feel 'real' to me
'TEAM' FACTOR - I could imagine these 6 travelling and fighting side by side in a novel or a movie
EXECUTION - presentation, quality, overall gut feeling


TOP 3: (edit: these are in no particular order)

Quanziz: Quanziz's album just makes me smile. I love this gang. All of the males are excellent, and the expressions all seem to fit the faces perfectly. The mage is classic, he reminds me of Harry Dean Stanton who is a 4000 year old mage in real life.

Vyvexthorne: These characters are all dripping with personality. Easily the best presentation of the bunch. I'm captivated by Lyztiana.

Eremic: A motley crew I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. None of these guys (or girls) would think twice about gutting me for a copper. This team can be summed up in one word: Gurn. I love it.

2 MORE:

Riot Inducer: Helena is one of the finest dwarf characters I've seen yet. I imagine she's the leader of this hardened bunch of scrappers. They fight hard and party even harder afterwrards.

Saurel: Yet another outstanding dwarf female (I'm developing a fetish). Each of these faces captured a subtle personality that I was attracted to. The human noble looks like he's staring at a dungeon full of darkspawn and thinking "are we seriously going in there? Seriously?"

Congrats, brilliant work everyone! (phew, that wasn't easy)

Being the obsessive-compulsive person I am, I can't just choose from looking at them. So I came up with a 7-category character rating system with a possible perfect score of 150 for a total album. .. Yeah, this will take forever. ::total masochist::

watching the different selections of the top 5 it is going to take some vote counting to hash out the winners.................As it should be when you have so many great samples. The only thing harder then this is having my wife pick out what she wants from the jewelry store.

Aw, I just noticed that too. To be fair, that rule wasn't in effect when I posted my album. ;__; I don't have a male human mage made up at all, and I don't think my male noble is good enough to replace my female noble in the line-up, so I guess I'll sit this one out. Stupid technicality. =[



Anyway, I'm almost done arranging the scores, I'll post it in the next half hour or so. (I copied all of the entries into OneNote so I could drag them around and compare. It's mindboggling how many good characters there are. @_@

If you like your female noble better than your female mage, and you only have a male noble, you could copy the sliders from the male noble onto a mage? Kind of tedious to do, though. Dx

No, I put up the characters I liked the best so far and will not change them. Also, at the time, there were no rules about gender or diversity. You simply had to choose 6, one for each origin. That I have 3 males and 3 females at all was my personal preference, and fairly random. It's not a big deal though, because with all of the competition, I couldn't see myself winning anyway. =P

Okay, first of all I'll explain my methods:
First step is to discard any character I couldn't imagine playing for over 50 hours.
Second, rate those that remain on a scale of 8-12.*
Third, combine scores and take into account how many characters there are left in the album.
Fourth, deliberate for a long long long long long time about which album looks the most varied and eye-catching.

* After step one, the 1-7's are all gone. An 8 is a character that I would change a couple things on. A 9 is a character I'd change one little thing on. A 10 is a character I would take into the game as-is; perfect. An 11 is absolutely superb; the kind of character that pops out of the screen and catches your eye immediately out of a crowded screen. 12 is the single best character in the competition. NB: There are 34 faces that scored a 10, only 15 faces that scored 11's, and 1 that scored a 12.

RANKING

1.) Aris Ravenstar.
              Your Dwarven Commoner is the 12. Otherwise, two 11's, two 10's, and City Elf is a 9.
2.) Riot Inducer.
              Your Dwarven Commoner and Human Mage are both 11's. Otherwise, three 9's and your Dalish Elf is an 8.
3.) QuanziZ.
              June and the Mage are 11's. Otherwise, one 10, two 9's and Conejo is an 8.
4.) Mesecina.
              Erion is an 11. Otherwise, two 10's and three 9's.
5.) Dalish Ranger.
              Gwen and Yenni are 11's. Otherwise, one 10, two 9's, and your Dalish Ranger didn't make my cut, sorry.

The first post was edited to say that on the first day. I posted my album on the first day, after the post, but before the edit. You can't really tell for sure, because it doesn't give exact timestamps, but I think that's what happened. It may actually be that Stryx edited it after I read it, but before I posted (I spent some time arranging the album and upoading a few pictures). That may be what happened. Regardless, I never read those rules until today.
IT DOESN'T MATTER THOUGH. If it's to the list above in my post, I don't mind losing.

Edit: Forgot Hanik Arran's 10's somehow. Also forgot Johnny Jaded's 11. Fixed.

Alrighty! Finally got through the entire list. Here are my noms:

Johnny Jaded - Not as much variety in age/coloring/whathaveyou as some groups, but I loved every single one of your characters and would pick any one of them to play, so that said more to me than anything.
Purple Lady - Your group is full of personality! Your Dwarven Noble and Dalish Elf are my favorites of the group, but again, totally love them all.
Darth_Shizz - Tons of variety. I adore your City Elf and Human Mage!

And if we're doing five:

Mesecina - Again, a lot of variety. I think you used very classic looks for your male dwarf and elf, but classic isn't a bad thing. Awesome job.
Hanik Arran - I think your group is the most intimidating. Your elf mage both frightens and intrigues me, and your human female is refreshingly hardcore in comparison to other entrants.

Gah, this was so hard. I also have a list of favorites in each individual category, naming my absolute favorite and five runner-ups (or in one case, a tie and four), but they were all seriously so neck-and-neck that I changed them every five minutes! X_x

Wow this is hard - I'm in the middle of what's obviously gonna take too long.
The poster is seriously awesome Hanik - makes me wish I wasn't preparing for graduation and could spend more time with Photoshop

Anyway guys didn't we say we're disregarding albums without screenshot portraits as it's a lot easier to pose/capture emotion with char portraits which makes it difficult to compare.

I noticed this being the case in B09boy's, Quanziz's and Critical Miss' album so far.
