I wasn't too shocked about it.  I mean they are all NHL players.  Rafalski was a member of the Devils Stanley cup winning teams.  He can play.  Langenbreuner was a member of the cup team as well.  Parise is a young player who is good.  Miller, the goalie is no slouch.  These are all good nhl players.  Sure, they aren't Crosby or Ovechkin but those guys are just one player.  Oh, can't forget Drury.  He was a member of the Colorado cup team and an overall remarkable athlete.

One more thing about the hockey game. It wasn't an elimination game. The win gave USA the pool and a bye so they only have to win 3 games to get a gold medal. Canada needs to win four. I heard that Canada might have to play Russia first. I'm not sure about that but if that's true then that will be a great game. Anyway, Canada could very well meet USA in the gold medal game (if USA makes it that is) and win for the gold medal. So ya, it was nice to see the win for the extra rest and all but the tourny has a long way to go. There are many good teams playing.

lets face it Canada, our support from our government for our athletes is ****. Our athletes work so hard but dont get much time to practice or get little to no compensation for their efforts.
US does support them, because they want their athletes to win.
Now our hockey team, well... its a bit of a joke. We should not have lost to the US, we lost because of stupid STUPID plays. Goals that should not have been in and so many missed opportunities for Canada that it was disgusting
Even the game against Switzerland. It should have NOT been that close. Or Norway. Yeah sure we won 8-0 BUT the first part of the game Norway was giving Canadians a couple of scares.
The women's hockey team is rocking and I predict at least one gold in hockey. Might not be from our multi million dollar athletes... Posted Image

Canada plays tonight against Germany. If they win this game, they will go play Russia. If they beat Russia, I think they go to the semi finals to determine who goes to the gold medal game

That's not the only reason we lost, but it was a big part of it, yes. Don't sell the US team short. They've got some great players on that team and Ryan Miller's goal tending was absolutely stellar. If he plays that way for the rest of the tournament, the US is going to be a helluva tough team to beat.

hocky team still kicking butt you go guys . well we arent dominating as we were but i think this will be our best winter games ever. no such thing as jinxing lol. AEON you guys ARE doing  good as well grats.

EDIT: And you guys see that goal by the canadians where it went thru  wow would of hated to be hit by that one  alot of power behind that one

Hmm... Canada is doing very well in the medals, particularly after yesterday. And there is at least one, probably two more medals in hockey still to come. Considering we have a tenth the population of the US, and much less money to throw around, that's saying something. Slovakia has done very well to get this far in men's hockey, as well. I really hope they get a bronze, actually.



And damn, did you see Virtue and Moir get their gold? It really showed that they had been skating together since they were kids. I mean, it was almost like they were one person controlling two bodies out there...

I am glad to see that Canada's men's team is still alive (haha... Portal reference)

Anyway, who knows maybe we will see an epic game in the gold medal game. Imagine US and Canada toe to toe in hockey

Right now they are toe to toe in the women's hockey

so far, Canada is winning 2-0. Hope they can keep it up!

hell i probibly would as well . It must be a great feeling to win when your compeating against the whole world. I think this already is the best winter games from the US. we usually stink at the winter games.

Looks like canada took the lead in Gold Medal counts. We may not have as many medals but we have the most gold medals

Actually the US Government does not put one pennie into development of  their Olympic Athletes. Years ago they made a deal with the IOC that gets them millions of dollars(255 million) from the IOC and that is how they fund their Olympic program. When Canadian officials asked if they could negotiate the same deal they were told that the USA deal runs out, I think the article said just before 2020, and at that time the deal would be renegotiated which probably means that the USA will have to start spending their own money on their own athletes.....
