One of the best lines in the game, I loved the trial. You can feel all the story and the connection.stillnotking wrote...

I didn't cry, but I was moved.
Never cried, but the Erinya episode along with Miranda meeting her sister, Tali's aforementioned trial, some of Samara's and Thane's dialogue, the reunion on Horizon, were all pretty touching. The suicide mission had me close to an heart attack...
Btw I'm on my second playthrough, going to hit the IFF... guys, I don't feel like doing it

Wrex: Shepard. <rushes past krogan as Shepard pushes past guards> Shepard. My friend.
The way they played the old main menu music when that happened just got me. I have a feeling that when people feel let down by the old squad mate reunions this is what they hold it up to. It was the meeting that just felt perfect.

Oh, me too! The entire intro sequence was very tense in general. I didn't spoil the beginning before playing the game, so that "getting spaced" scene took me by surprise and shocked me. I think I actually shouted "NOooOO, SHEPARD" or something. Damn it, that made me feel stupid. But the scene moved me so much!snatchmo wrote...

But why would that be narcissistic? I never saw Shepard as an avatar of myself, I see her as the hero of the series, a fictional character that I've grown way too fond of.

I think it's largely to do with the music and heartbeat background on Ilos.yummysoap wrote...

I was quite emotional over Shepard reuniting with Wrex. Way better than the rest of the squad reunions.
Having said that, I don't think there was an instance that left me in tears.
The last thing that did that for me was Vigil on Ilos.
I don't understand why some people say that they found Vigil particularly tear-worthy. I get that the story he tells is pretty tragic, and that the situation he's in is sad, but I didn't find anything to be that gut-wrenching - at least not compared to some of the other stuff.
I'm not trying to mock, I'm actually interested in hearing why.
That and the it almost evokes a feeling of nostalgia.
Maybe it's more of the 'once upon a time'/'in the distant past' vibe, and a place full of memories and sadness.
Perhaps with it's position in the story being like at the top of a rollercoaster, before plunging back into the madness to face Saren, it gives you a moment to release and gather your emotions.

I've had a weird reaction to that. I hated it the first time I saw it. Hated, hated, hated. But every time I've encountered it in ensuining play-throughs, it's bothered me a little bit less. Didn't bother me at all my third time, in fact, and I've started seeing things I didn't notice before, like that it has a reaper multiple-eye setup, and just how reaper-esque the hands look. I don't know if I'm becoming adjusted to it or starting to think more analytically about it instead of just hating the giant Terminator at first sight, but it didn't drag me out of the game at all the last time.Zhijn wrote...
Does tears of laughter count?
If yes then you betcha. Suicide mission going strong and epic. Then we platform up and BAM the epicness plummet to zero and is replaced by tears of laughter! A giant human robot!. The epic moment ends in tears.
Fan-fricking-tastic!.

Tali finding her father. Videogames are not supposed to leave me emotionally devastated.
Didn't cry, but getting thanked by all the people I helped in ME1 gave me the warm fuzzies. Especially Helena Blake.

spent a lot of time building my shepard, played through the dialog, answering how i would genuinly answer (not after paragon or renegade points). and styled all my characters in colossus with specterx gear. if i had a "digital self image", my shepard would be it. probably simplifies the picture if i tell you that ME is the only video game i play on a regular basis. no i don't wrap my life around it , but i do feel a strong relation to it. and obviously i enjoy playing....i think i just answeed my own question.

Oter moments: The Asari on Illium talking about losing her family. Joker's reply of "No, but thanks for asking." when EDI asked him if he was OK after te crew was lost.
Oh, and Tali finding her father - pretty sure I mouthed "No! Dammit."

Seeing the new Normandy - "It's good to be home, isn't it Commander?"
Memories of Illium store, after completing the Blue Rose - 35 year old salarian buying mementos with his stepdaughter for his wife for after he dies. "You'll make sure she remembers?"
Others that tugged at the heartstrings:
Paragon conversation option during Mordin's loyalty quest - "Look at the dead woman Mordin; it doesn't look like you saved her."
Saving Maelon during Mordin's loyalty quest - "The genophage needs to end professor!" "Not like this."
Not hugging Tali during her loyalty quest - "You wouldn't die and leave me to clean up your mess!"
In fact, everything she says about her father after that.
Jacob giving his father a half charged gun - "My father owned his mistakes."
Samara rejecting your advances - "In another time; another life."
Capt. Bailey on why he's helping Shepard and Thane - "You think he's the only one who ever screwed up raising a son?"
Conversation with Legion - "Do these units have a soul?"
If the council lived, Paragon option talking to Al Jilani - "The Alliance lost eight cruisers,...and yes, I remember them all."
And of course Wrex.
The hard part is not picking emotional moments out of the game; the hard part is finding unemotional ones.
