I didn't cry beyond some welled-up tears. I will say that I had many more uncontrollable smiles than tears.

Starting off, I had tears and a gaping mouth at the destruction of the Normandy. I still don't understand why I'm so ... heartbroken over it's loss. She was a mighty fine (fictional) ship and seeing her rended apart so brutally left me teary eyed and completely silent. Then Shepard obviously dying was another kick in the quads (although anyone coulda figured out s/he was coming back, but I digress). The subsequent visit to the Normandy's final resting place left me heavy-hearted, especially the flashback of XO Pressley.

And the reveal of the Normandy SR2 left me teary-eyed and angry. I would've gone with a different name, it seems like the first one was getting wiped off the board and being replaced. SHE CAN'T BE REPLACED. /cry

I smiled at seeing Admiral/Counselor Anderson again. It was nice seeing a friendly face on the Citadel, especially since allies seem so few and far between at that point of the game.

Hearing about Liara being on Illium brought a tear, especially with her knowing I was coming (for her) and paying for the Normandy's docking fees. Then I was let shocked.

Tali's speech about being a young girl and being swept up into the events of the first game. Uber-smileage. Same with her romance. It felt like the culmination and transition of a long friendship to a romance.

I had strong reactions to all of the final cutscenes from using the Omega-4 Relay to Shepard leaping triumphantly onto the Normandy. The suicide mission was very evocative in making me root for the dirty dozen at all points. Haven't been that wound up in a game since ... well, the first ME.

i didn't cry, which is surprising, because i'm a big pansy.

it probably had a lot to do with shepard's reactions to everything.

I never cried over either ME, but if you really want a video game to make you shed tears, go play Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. If you don't at least have to fight back a few tears when Zack dies, you have no soul.

Too true, that and Lost Odessey made me cry. Oh and the first Ten minutes of Star Trek (2009) pulled a few heart strings.

Lost Odyssey had to be one of the most moving games ever made.  Every memory scene unlocked was a tear-jerker built into it.

I HAVE to jump on the Lost Odyssey cry train here. I've played plenty of games and seen plenty of movies...

But Lost Odyssey made me outright cry more than once. Manly tears, of course, but still. The memory sequences were beautiful and impactfully written. Anybody who has ever loved and lost anybody precious to them will get hit hard by at least one or two of those memory scenes, and that's excluding several in-game scenes I won't spoil. Seriously, check Lost Odyssey out. Fantastic game.

Back on topic, I didn't cry during Mass Effect, but I did get emotional during a few scenes, such as Tali's discovery of her father's body, the Asari contractor who lost her partner and children to war, Thane confessing his fears of death, and even a few touching scenes like the Salarian father trying to bond with his Asari step-daughter.

I also teared up a bit when Miranda reunited with her sister. Every time I watch it I get a bit misty eyed.

I never actually cried during ME2, but I got really close to crying when Tali found her father dead. It really is amazing that a character whose face you can't even see can get you so emotional. All you need is her voice. Her voice actor is truly amazing.

I teared up when I found Pressly's datapad at the Normandy Crash Site. And I did shed a few tears for Tali and the Paragon hug.

"Hell Garrus, you were always ugly. slap some facepaint on and no one will even notice" - Garrus' reaction made me smile the biggest in the whole game I think. "Mind you.. most of those women are Krogan"

As for tearjerkers: The *music* alone that's behind the reveal of the Normandy makes me all misty-eyed, really, I just need to hear the tune to have tears well up.

And one I just found out: if you stayed true to your ME1 LI, the moments before going through the Omega4 relay, looking at the picture, then turning and walking away with new resolve.

And ofcourse, can't miss Tali's loyalty quest. That is one big tearjerker for me heh.

I didn't actually cry, but I did feel emotional at many points. Tali's reaction to her father dead was touching. The asari mother who lost both her daughters. And the thought that Morinth killed such a cute, talented girl.. by SEX. Such an insult.

Thane's loyalty mission always gets me. There's something about when he says "I've taken many bad things out of the universe. You're the only good thing I've added to it."

The asari on Illium who lost her daughters is another one.

Miranda's loyalty quest at the end, and talking with her afterwards both feel sort of, intense but in a good way - the muted hustle around them when she see's her sister, and the way she talks about her afterwards are both really sweet.

Garrus's loyalty quest I found really intense as well.

I love it when people (like Gabey5) say they felt nothing or very little yet have things in their signature supporting the exact characters and plots from the game. Obviously you felt enough for Thane to have your support in a sig, bro.

Anyway, the whole game for me was an emotional rollercoaster, from beginning to the end. I doubt there was one moment that didn't illicit an emotional response. The speeches on the suicide mission had me welling up with pride and yearning to kick some ass, as well as a few tears.

Also, Thane's story had me emotional as well. I mean he is such an awesome character that I really do want them to cure him in ME3 during an optional sidequest. I mean for f-sake, they brought me back from the dead, they can do a damned lung transplant for Thane.

Never cried, but Garrus' romance was pretty friggin sad, and Tali's loyalty mission too. Got really sad on my first time on the suicide mission. Tali got capped in the face and I was like "what?! NO! ugh..."

When you are in the Krogan homeworld and you are walking by two warriors, one finds out that he has a son in the female camp. That heart felt emotion of pride and love, that longing to be part of his child's life but can't due to circumstances always brought tears to my eye. Makes me think about all the fathers in the world who can't be with their children.

i wouldn't cry.. but i would have flipped out (seriously) if garrus or tali got killed in my suicide mission. they didn't so i didn't have to worry about it. tali is my girl i dont care what any one says. i would have romanced her in the first game if it was possible (wasn't possible was it? rofl) and garrus is my main man

Eh, cried every time the music picked up.

Normandy reveal, Pressleys' logs, Jokers "We are leaving!" moment of glory, when the SR2 crew got nabbed (Cried and sweared), Garrus reveal (Tears of manliness), etc..

Hell, I even got choked up (every time, actually) when I saw my Shep do that skydive scene at the beginning where he decides it would be cool to headbut a planet "Space Viking" style.

No, I did not cry during the game. I would say the most emotional moment for me was at the beginning. Stepping onto the Bridge of the Normandy and seeing my ship dying was a kick in the gut. Unfortunately, that was the greatest emotional impact the game had for me.

Yasee, that didn't 'move me' at all, though I found it quite gripping. Why do you think it moved you so much?
