Seems a little lazy and annoying.
Not that people e-mail me, but that almost every single e-mail goes like this
"Commander Shepard,
This is Some Girl, Kevin Costner game me your contact information, I hope you get this. I just wanted to say thank you for..."
I mean every single e-mail tells me that the person got my contact information from someone else. That can't be the way people e-mail each other in the future. Not every single person who e-mails you explains (in almost the same words/way) how they got your contact information.
Besides I think it's no Secret Commander Shepard's E-mail is
GethStalkerN7@gmail.com
That's just common knowledge.
So the E-mails I get from people on Recent missions

Hi TheBRADLeyB
I got this thread post from my sisters friend who went to school with your dads postal worker.
I just wanted to say thanks for pointing this out.
I take it as kinda like this Shepard dude is like a rockstar and everyones a lil nervous.
Plus it's like how everyone say to leave your name & # on their voicemail when most humans should know this process already.

Umm, sure it is...if they don't actually know you, but only your name, and have to ask someone how to get a hold of you in order to thank you for something you did that was rather important to them. I suppose they may have played that card a little too often, but it's not really far-fetched and it's hardly "every single person".

Some of the emails were really funny but the whole system had to have been thought up to facilitate DLC.
ME1 had proper voice acted conversations to give you most of the secondary missions, or you found out about them through the elevators or terminals you found during your adventures, ME2 had it all done with emails. There's no comparison.
