Does finishing the "Exotic Methods" quest keep Harrowmont from getting poisioned and killed in the epilogue if you made him king?  I've never taken the time to do it, but then I thought about it and the healer said the poison was probably a king-killer, so I thought it might be connected.  Cany anyone confirm or deny this?

Unfortunately I believe it isn't connected. The Dragon Age Wiki says that the only consequences of this quest are the fact that you gain "150 xp, and by accepting the quest you gain the recipe, which can create potions that cure Sleep and Paralysis."

I did the Exotic Methods quest and healed the sick noble, but in my epilogue it still said that Harrowmont died. It was never confirmed if he was indeed poisoned a hundred percent, however, just implied.

Yes, I tired of the whole Dwarven Politics stuff. Too much running around, too much do this, do that. Just pick a king yourselves already for crying out loud, don't have some stranger do it for you. Just give me my troops already!

I didn't like the way it was in the game because it seemed absurd for an outsider to make the choice, and I hated not having more information about the candidates. But conceptually, I like political intrigue. In fact, I'd love to have a game that was all about vying political factions instead of saving the world.

*Spoilers*

Just goes to show you why you should pick Bhelen.... unless you want Orzamar to crumble, or you're playing a dwarf noble and are hoping to get named Harrowmont's successor. Plus Bhelen's town cryer is just some much funnier than Harrowmont's.

"Grey Warden's endorse Prince Bhelen, Lord Harrowmont addled and confused."

"Lord Harrowmount seen kicking castless in the street..."

"Lord Harrowmount, no one will stop him from stripping Orzammar's defenses. Claim Insiders"

If you are a Dwarf Noble you can be king if you make Harrowmont king that to me is the best ending to the quest.
