No. <_<

He reminds me too much of a friend I use to have. We argued endlessly over design.

But the two of you were still friends though right? Honestly you must find something in his commentary funny. At least a little?

Each company has its own touch, bioware is in for its great storytelling but few real choice
Well for mass effect it's bit différent since we should see the endings of ME3 to be sure...

Bethesda is know for massive world good lore and, erm, bland story telling... Oh yes, and bugs too. ^.~

I guess bioware games are to be taken as a good book: A good story.

I lol-ed. But, in truth, he's right about a few things, and dead wrong about a number of others.

does not matter if you like him or not he is dead on with that vid. Too many crap gamers want stuff made os easy a kitten high on catnip can beat a game on the hardest difficultiy.

now seriously go back and play something like Metroid Prime on gamecube or the new version on Wii, the game is not an interactive movie but the updated gameplay on the wii makes it one of the most fun games to play and you have to THINK to get past certain things. My biggest peeve about ME2 is there was no actual challenge to it, its go though hallways, see cover, hide behind said cover, then kill mobs, now rince and repeat. No challenging events what so ever.

You see so many retarded people on here wondering how to get everyoen though the suiside mission yet anyone with half a brain has a to activly try to NOT get everyone though. I hit that place on insantiy and was like WTF, people don't manage to get everyone back safely

Totally. Would the deeproads and the broodmother count as well?

We're friends still. Probably because we don't talk anymore.

I only find Yahtzee funny half the time. Somehow, Nahtzee managed to come across even more condescending.

I'll be the first to argue that games are too easy. I don't think it's because of the reasons Nahtzee mentions, however and sometimes old games were difficult not from well balanced game mechanics but from clunky or archaic design restrictions.

I don't own those consoles. I'm a PC fan. Yes, ME presents zero challenge and Dragon Age's difficulty was way over-hyped. I would like developers to release more difficult settings, but I also realize that they work under time constraints and enemy AI is an incredibly difficult thing to program. Just because I want it doesn't mean that BioWare will be able to add it, especially while maintaining the higher level of polish and design they have in other departments. And getting the games out at a reasonable pace.

He's right about sequels and cheesy story telling, not about gameplay though.

You'll note that the first town you go to has three areas whose problems you need to solve (in any order!) before you may go to the Imperial City.

Indeed. Either find your own voice, or don't try hollow mimicry. His piece would be a million times better if he lost all the empty Zero Punctuation elements. And needless swearing.

That is easy: Street fighter 4.

It's pure gameplay, and yes, a redo of a past game but an excellent one. Try challenging online. The learning curve is wicked.

Bioware follows a very specific pattern as well as Obsidian and other companies.  The games itself are very non-linear and the plot itself is "structured".   Structured in that you can't run off and face the end boss but you're allowed something like free roam in the beginning.

While I find nahtzee funny sometimes. Developing flow (or fun) in a game doesn't just reside in game mechanics. Flow is the key and it is developed in various ways for different people and it is the job of the developer to hit as many within their genre. Hence the genreisation of games. If i want multiplayer action I play an FPS like Battlefield if i want a Role-Playing experiance I choose ME, DA or Fallout. Sometimes i don't want to follow a story, play a character etc. Sometimes i just want to capture some flags, blow up some noobs and be awesome.

Its fine to put games into boxes but not the gamer.

THERE YOU GO!!!!! Street Figther 4 its great gameplay and its not an interactive movie

Story is great, but you have to have great gameplay to go with it, the combat in ME2 is fun, but after teh first mission you are never suprised by anything else becasue its just more of the same

Ah true true.

I found this one hysterical however.

Though I'm not sure if its Nahtzee or Yahtzee....:?

NM its Yahtzee. XD

Mostly because of the last line.

So....

We should just be playing shooters, platformers, fighting, and racing games? With no concern for the story or characters?

No thank you.

I played ME2 on hardcore, and that was plenty difficult for me. Yes, the battles get a tad repetitive, but I'm not sure how else you would do it.

I have critisized the game for being too simple, but the options you have in pure combat are the deepest part of the game.

Then again, I'm new to shooters.

I miss the different music intro/outro clips. My favourite is still the Duke Nukem Forever review. Or Jericho.

Indeed. I love Team Fortress 2 (and UT2004 back in the day) but sometimes I want to play a game with good characters and story. It would be nice if they could add a challenge to these games, but I accept a downgrade in the difficulty if it means I get more story than "Big tournament, kill people for lots of money or freedom."
