It's a 'for when everything absolutely positively must die' tool, not a practical weapon. it still has it's uses.
Yup, pretty much this. Which is why it makes it so useful when taking out the Core and Colossus. Turns a whole load of hassle into a simple task of, charging it, aiming it and firing it.

The Cain is possibly the most impractical weapon in the game. How many people actually seriously use it?
I tried to use it one time after I blew myself up with it the first time. I tried to nuke the human reaper with it, and guess what? Stupid collector popped out of cover and took the rocket to the face. Haven't touched it since.

Its the gun you use when you just need to kill everything in the room.

blackstorm is by far the best and most fun heavy weapon in the whole game. sorry to you guys who didn't get it. you truly are missing out
I have the code, but never registered it. It seemed like some Overpowered bull**** to me.
I usually never use heavy weapons, just the assault rifle (Yes, even on the thresher maw). When there's an annoying situation (like the platform on the suicide mission with the husks/scions) I'll use the CAIN to kill everthing so I don't need to deal with their ****.

Wow, thanks for your insight. Amazing how you can get that from one post. Or did your mom tell you? She promised she wouldn't tell all my secrets.Mikazukinoyaiba2 wrote...

Also make sure you have 100% charge/ammo
This. Ihad this problem. Even if you have 90% ammo, it won't fire. Has to be 100%.
That's what I hate about this gun. It is most definately the strongest gun I have used in this game but only when it's at 100%. On my second playthrough when I was fighting the human reaper, I was charging up for some pownage when the gun didn't fire. I look at the ammo cap and it was at 99%. 99%!!!! Just 1% more and I would have oblitorated that thing! Instead, Harbinger walks up and gives me a blast of his own and takes me down.

hahahaha
wow
But yes you suck at shooters if you don't know how to hit a moving target or how to time a charge.

Oh, come on. It is kind of a wierd gun. It's not a big deal.

Its the "walk in a room, charge, launch, duck, pray, and win" kind of gun.
That is, when its at 100% or +.......That is not to often

Sorry, I've spent so much time learning how to do that in real life that I don't have a whole lot of tme to waste figuring out how to shoot fake targets. Let's compare how well you do on the two-way range.Mikazukinoyaiba2 wrote...

You must feel like such a big man shooting at targets that don't really shoot back. Bravo, ****.

Sorry. I prefer a weapon I can fire more than once. Avalanche for me.
Tip: AOE freezing is fantastic on groups of husks.

I managed to get it at 175% of power ... at this level you can only fire one time, and I think it is the maximum you can get. You'll need 25 % more to shoot again, how frustrating :-( .
I haven't tried the items that provide a bonus to the heavy weapon ammo count... I don't think that it is possible to push it to 200%.
if you fully upgrade your heavy weapon ammo, you get 2 shots outta that sweet thang

So in RL you don't point and shoot? That's like saying "I was too busy learning how to drive in RL that I don't know how to drive in videogames, even though the controls are far simpler".Paradox 01 wrote...

Let me guess, you're a whiz at Calculus but suck at Algebra right?
Does it make you feel big to tell anyone online (who doesn't care BTW) that you know how to shoot a gun in RL? Or does exposing how little self-esteem and sensitive you are to insults over the internet make you feel big.You must feel like such a big man shooting at targets that don't really shoot back. Bravo, ****.
