I'm playing DA and I think it's actually better than ME2. The length is enormous, the party interactions are on a whole 'nother level, the game is much harder, and the plot is somewhat better.

I liked both games, no need to argue which one is better

dunno, like me2 better...altough i am rather a fantasy fan... but i think the story from da is really awfull - it so 0815 and boring...thats the reason i have never played it a second time...me2 seems just more grown up and real and i feel more that i could play like i actually want..i really wished they would come up with better storys for fantasy rpgs then the same crap over and over again forcing you to play the douchebag hero fighting the unspoken unknown grand evil buaaaaaaaaaa

How can you even compare the two?

I thought DA was the worst game Bioware has made since BG, to be honest

The game draws alot of inspiration from The Song of Ice and Fire books and considering I like the books, I'm very much enjoying it.

Both are on the list of my favorite games, but I had/am having more fun with ME2.

I am playing both right now and DAO is definitely the RPG I wish Mass Effect was, in terms of traditional RPG elements.
But really you cant compare the two games, they are worlds apart

you can certainly compare them in certain aspects such as story (originality), lore (orginality / amount / authenticity), linearity of gameplay, party character originality and interaction, decision and conversation system etc. etc....
i like a lot of stuff about da but i just think it could have become a so much better game then it is (and most reviews seem to agree on that)...and the story just really bothers me which killed any replay value for me...

I like DAO more. Sorry.

They're both good but both very different, honestly as of right now I've played both for equal amounts of time. BioWare makes good games, why do I have to like one more than another?

I loved both games, but I have to say I've played the crap out of me2 over and over again with same classes even.
I'll keep playing both games as more DLC comes out too.

Both games are fantastic for different reasons.
But I prefer Mass Effect simply because I feel that it creates a more interesting universe that stands out more from other games. DA just feels like a fantasy RPG. The world doesn't has the same unique character of the ME universe. But that's just my feeling.
I also much prefer having a main character who has a voice/personality. In DA everything feels a bit more disconnected, because you're just a voiceless shell who occasionally makes a face at the unfolding of the plot. I'm sure some prefer that because it allows them to feel like the character is their own or what have you, and obviously its part of the nature of having so many origin stories. But I love Shepard. I didn't feel anything close to that connection to the main character in Dragon Age.
That said, I'd likely playing DA again right now if my computer hadn't fried. But I'm not too busted about having to play Mass Effect...

DA had too long maps I think.
Just an endless hack and slash experience, where as ME2 is shorter map wise, and it has a more detailed storie.
Sure there was a lot of storie in DA, but I kept feeling I was plaing Oblivion over and over. Especially in the underground ruins. Same architecture, same "tactics".
So Im voiching for ME2!
Haven't had a better RPG experience in years.

Cannot compare a game that takes place waaaay before any of us were born to a game waaay in the future when we are all dead.

Actually the game is NOT harder, it's not even difficult.. period. And I'm serious. The length of ME2 and DAO are almost the same if you do all the side quest including the planet scanning missions. Look on youtube and you will find all the locations

But in any case, DAO and ME2 are my top 2 favorite RPGs and games in general. DAO Awakening!!! and DA:2!!!

Played DAO for 20 minutes, stopped. Personally I just can't be immersed in a game where I can't "assume direct control" of my character. Would've preferred Oblivion-style controls in DAO.

because DA looks like trash so by default ME2 is better

DA:O, story with greater depth, better companions more compelling group based tactical combat. ME2 better graphics and that is all.

I wish ME2 got the DA:O treatment, DA had alot more content.

I like DA:O, it is a good game. Unfortunately I have it on the 360 and feel my experience was lessened. I may pick up the PC version, after a much needed graphics card upgrade.
Between the two franchises I'd choose Mass Effect. Between ME2 and DA:O, I'd probably go DA:O.
Shame ME2 wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but it's still a decent game.
