Weapon types
Standard - same as the ones in ME2
•Effective against health and armour and tech armour
•Weak against shields and barriers
Example: avenger assault rifle
Advanced- 200-1000 round clip size overheats when fired continuously
•Effective against shields, barriers and armour
•Weak against health and tech armour
Example: lancer assault rifle
Energy- energy based ( charge instead of clip)
•effective against shields, barriers and health
•Weak against armour and tech armour
Example: collector beam rifle
Armour
•All armor provides armour and shields
•many different armour sets can be bought or even ( rarely ) found
•All armour parts can be fitted to any armour
•All armours start off at grade 1 and the grade can be increased by
using resources. Each grade slightly increases the armours stats. The
max grade is 10 no armour is worse than another they just have
different strengths and weaknesses
•semipermanent upgrades can be applied ( max of 3 )
These include shield battery, ablative coating ect
•Upgrades also have grades which can be increased
•Weapons also have grades which can be increased
•Weapons Can also have upgrades added
Weapon/power wheels
• the wheels now toggle on and off using LB and RB respectively
( hold to toggle, tap to use mapped power)
• all squad members have 5 powers from the start another is unlocked
when loyal
• the ammo type power is moved to the weapons wheel and now cycles
through the different types by tapping A on the icon
• the teams status is displayed in the same way as the enemy health
bars
They are shown along the bottom in a line with a picture of their
face, a small weapon icon and a bar underneath to show the power
recharging
Leveling
•XP is earned by killing enemies, hacking data, completing sidequests
and other things
•the player levels up upon gaining enough XP not by completing
missions
•the player can reach a max of level 40 in the first playthrough and
unlocks levels 41-60 in the second playthrough
•Enemies also have levels which are taylored accorrding to the
difficulty
• 3 points are awarded upon leveling up meaning there is a total of
180 points available
•the players has 10 talents which can be leveled up with space for 2
more on the second playthrough
• squad members have 7 talent rows at the start ,5 are power talents,
1 is their class talent ,1 is their ammo power, and the 8th is their
loyalty power.
• talents now have ranks 5 and 6 available which further enhance the
chosen evolution of the talent
This means a total of 21 points can be alocated to a talent
•additional points may be aqiurred by finding and completing secret
missions or subplots
•ammo types are now combined into one talent ( the player starts of
with one ammo type and must find/aqiure/buy the rest.)
• squad members gain a new ability, weapon type and ammo type when
they become loyal.
• the player can now add points to talents regardless of how many
points they have e.g 2 points can be added to rank 6 of a talent, this
allows the player to have greater control of thier abilities
protection/health recharge rates
Health. All classes can upgrade to have health regeneration but only
the soilder starts of with it the player can use medi gel to heal
themselves and the squad at will. Medigel is also used up when using
unity
Armour. All classes have armour but tech armour is a power only
available to certain classes armour is resistant to biotic attacks but
weak against tech attacks. Armour doesn't recharge on it's own it
repairs itself during combat by draining the players stock of omni gel
at the rate of 2 points per second
The player can have a max of 500 points of armour and hold a max of
2000 omni gel. Upgrades and talents can increase the rate of recovery
and reduce the drain on the omnigel stock.
The squads armour also recharges using the players omnigel. Armour
doesn't recharge if the player has no omnigel.
Shields are available to all characters and are determined by the
players armour suit and upgrades (just as armour points are). The
player can have a max of 500 shield points
Shields are resistant to gunfire but weak against tech and biotic
attacks
They auto recharge quickly in battle and do not require any energy or
resources.
Barriers. Available only to biotic classes they are incredibly
resistant to gunfire and all ammo types and are immune to tech attacks
however they are easily destroyed by physical forces or biotic
attacks. The player can have a max of 500 barrier points. Barriers do
not recharge and must be manually used by the power wheel.
Medigel and omnigel are found in crates and by killing foes.
Economy/tech research terminal
Credits are found in very much the same way
Shops now sell weapons, armour, upgrades and even vehicles
The research terminal no longer upgrades weapons or armour but it does
upgrade the ship, vehicle and prototypes
Squad members can now have their armour customized in the same way as
the player.
Armours can also be switched between light, medium and heavy modes
The inventory is autocleaning so the player doesn't have excess weaponry
The player and squads equipment can be changed on the ship but not in
the field.
• you must tap A to enter cover and tap A again to exit cover this
prevents you dying because you stepped out of cover when you didn't
mean to.
• you no longer have to exit cover to go round a corner it just auto
transits
• double tapping A as you run up to cover allows you to vault it
instantly instead of having to hide behind it first
