Here's what I see happening with an EDI-Legion romance:
Shepard enters the AI Core to find holographic containers of Ben and Jerry's everywhere...

I think EDI and Joker had a thing going - because she didn't know very many beings but when she first allows Legion through the firewall, something awoke within her.
I think she wants to interface with Legion again. And I totally see the Joker vs Legion show-down.

Geth are an aggregate personality formed by multiple VI processes, we all know Shep is the Kirk of ME universe, and we know Legion has a piece of Shep's armor. I bet that's where the Shep VI went, Legion uploaded it into his platform since he's trying to be more like Shep and Interface with EDI.

i hate edi.. ive searched her dialog tree. i cant find it, she says she monitors us, and joker says there camera's.. but edi wont give up the vids of me and tali.
what was it that shepard vi said.. i squash bugs like you on the way to real errors.? lol. they should so have legion say that in me3 at some random point. id LOL myself out my chair.
favs was "geth do not intentionally infiltrate" was funny how he says it really fast. like hes getting the last word..
my personal synthetic assistant shoots a sniper rifle and hacks for cash.. what does yours do... muhahaha

In short, I think EDI finds Legion interesting, fond of, and maybe even "likes" him — something an AI would have difficulty understanding on a personal level. Likewise, EDI helps Legion attain the perspective of self, and through "intergrating" (melding, conjoining) develops an actual "advanced" AI platform for Legion's systems.

I was kinda hoping to see an actual romance between Joker and EDI. It seems like the two grew pretty fond of each other throughout the game. As for Legion, it has Shepard. A romance between the two would be pretty neat imo. It wouldn't be gay because Legion is neither male nor female.
Yeah sure a romance between Joker and EDI, and Legion and Shepard might seem weird on paper, but I think it would be neat to see in the game. It'd add even more depth and uniqueness to an already atmospheric and immersive game.
