For the past 6 years, I've been working on a script for a video game. The script is complete and I came up with a concept I call "Powwow".

A powwow is exactly what you think. It is sitting down and having a chat with your squad mates. But, the chat can happen at the place of your choosing.

Beautiful spaces are wasted in video games. The bar in the Citadel is one example. There's nothing to do in the bar. You walk in, ask one question, then leave. But, a team of artists spent a month or more making it. It is a cool space that deserves more attention and time.

Powwows would add value to any space. So, instead of running by the waterfall in Zaeed's mission, I can stop to admire it with a powwow. It would be ideal if my squad mates could comment on the scene, but that isn't mandatory.

Here's how it might work:

You reach an area that you like. It can be any place. You hit the powwow button. You and your squad take a break and sit down. If there are seats, or rocks, they sit on them. Otherwise, they sit on the floor/ground. You have two types of dialogue. The first is the main story line, the second is optional dialogue that opens when a landmark is visible. A landmark is anything that might spark interest of a character.

If this is used, it should be the only way to interact with your squad outside of cutscenes. In other words, it should not be a context sensitive cutscene at a few locations.
