To sleep with every single woman he gazed upon so that the Warden might form a super powerful squad to beat back the blight.

Leliana? Maric's daughter.
Shale? Maric's daughter.
Sten? Maric's son.
Dog? Maric's son / daughter.

You get the idea.

I seem to recall that Flemeth told him about the Blight and Maric promised to fight it when that time came.

we don't know. It was a secret (at least in the book) Maric was with Flemeth if I remember correctly, for hours, but we know nothing of what transpired inside, or what she told him - we do have hints here and there, but it's a mystery

I don't know when the books are supposed to happen, but note this : Alistair is 32, Morrigan is 30. If the books happen 30 years before Origins... ups! If not... ermm.. nope?

Still, would also like to point out that Miss Sheryl Chee said all character ages could not be correct. They might have changed concept within development of the game.

The Stolen Throne covers the war of liberation against Orlais, which finished 30 years ago. So yes, this is possible. However, where does it actually state either Alistair or Morrigan's age. For a start, for Alistair's mother to be a maid at Redcliffe Castle he would ahve had to have been born *after* the war ended, which puts him late twenties at the oldest.

It's all written on the toolset. Age, info, role... everything...

Maric slept with Flemeth, Morrigan is Alistair's half-sister, so anyone did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan and Alistair will get god-powered evil retard in the sequel

Everyone here is being a general butthole. They never really say what was promised in the book, or subsequently, but from the references, it seems that he promised to go with the Grey Wardens when they came seeking his help. I guess Flemeth knew that would happen (far-seer?) and she told him that in return for guiding him out, he would promise to assist them in their quest.

While I have not read either book yet, The Calling takes place after The Stolen Throne, yes? And deals with Maric hanging with the GW and might give some insight into what happened in The Stolen Throne? Perhaps there are some answers there. I am planning to read both novels when I have the chance, but for now, school is keeping me busy.

Some of them anyway. As said in my post, the ages were probably set as early concepts of the game. Alistair was supposed to be a veteran warden at the beginning. But other characters, like Morrigan, or Shale or what else, didn't have different concepts, so ages might work.
The only nonsential age that was probably wrong was Bryce Cousland's, set to 40, while Fergus was 30... Or Bryce had his first born at a very early age...

The toolset doesn't matter. What matters is the lore. The lore says that the Dragon Age began the same year the Orlesians were driven out at River Dane. The events of Origins are 30 years later. Alistair is in his early 20s.

As for what Maric promised Flemeth, we don't know because David Gaider didn't tell us. Regarding the Blight, he did say that Flemeth told him a Blight would come to Ferelden but he wouldn't be alive to fight it.

No because she told him he would be dead long before it came. If you read The Calling thats what he says in the deep roads.

All we know is that Flemeth warned of the blight (Maric wouldn't be around for it) and warned that Loghain would betray at some point (but doesn't specify when/how/or who he would betray).  We have no more details than that.I suspect we will learn the full truth sometime in an expansion/sequel.

There is nothing stated in the book or in the game that the child born at the end of The Calling is Alistair.

For all we know Maric left a string of bastards across Ferelden.
