For usefulness? I like Garrus/Legion and Grunt. Grunt can be close range with his shotgun and he has allot of health. Garrus hangs back with sniper and tungsten rounds. Legion hangs back with the Widow Anit Material Rifle. I'm mid range with an Assault Rifle.

i have two favorites but it depends on what you are fighting.

for organic oponants by far my favorite squad mate is mordin heavy incinerate basicly has a rather fast recharge time and can rape harbinger as well as dropping krogan and vorcha rather quickly



for synthetic opponants i have to stick with tali. in me 1 when your were mostly fighting geth tali and garrus were the most unbalanced teammates because at the time they could both use overload. but since most things in me2 were organic i still say mordin trumps all the rest for sheer death and destruction capability

Miranda has the most useful power set, but her weapons suck, and she loves charging in with that sub-machine gun. Garrus has a better weapon choice, can do some real damage with the mantis sniper rifle. His powers aren't quite as good, but he has overload for shields, concussive shot for barriers and once you do his loyalty, AP ammo. So overall I'd go with Garrus.

Miranda. 2nd teammate is interchangeable depending on the type of mobs we're going to face.



For my hardcore run, Miranda and Garrus so far are doing really well except that Garrus sometimes makes stupid moves.

My vote is with Grunt, after his upgrades. That crazy pure krogan won't go down.

Garrus; hands down! Hes got it all. Never leaves my party...unless there is a potential harmful-to-Turian virus floating around...



Zaeed, Legion, Mordin and Tali are really good too.

You know, if you bring him on that mission, you get additional dialogue. But yes, I have to agree, Garrus is the best squad-mate imo. Armor-piercing ammo, CS(also anti-barrier), Overload, and assault/sniper seal the deal nicely. The squad boost Miranda gives doesn't compensate for her weapons.

Miranda is a deadshot with that SMG though, very accurate. Miranda knows how to use cover better than Garrus as well.  If you have someone with Squd ammo, she is even better. I like Squad cryo, shes freezes stuff all over the place.

Angainst Synthetics I always take Zaeed, with squad based Dirsupter ammo.  I play a Vanguard so Zaeed is my only choice for disrupter ammo. Having everyone with disrupter ammo though is nice, rips up synthetics.

as an adept on insanity i liked using samara with reduced cooldowns and the assassin so i can constantly be throwing out spells and pulls. having myself reap armor down getting one of them to fling the guy then i insta kill warp them

The best-->Samara with area reave or/And Mordin with Area incinerate.
Zaedd with the inferno grenade.
Thane has warp,a amazing high weapon damage and could use sniper rifles.
Miranda is the worst choice in this case.
Oh,i forgot legion with the widow.
Enemies with barrier:
Again,Samara is the best with reave.And she could use assault rifles.
Thane has warp too,but have higher weapon damage and could use sniper rifles.
Again,Miranda is the worst choice.

I agree that in a collector mission loyal Samara and Thane can do the job almost as good as Miranda + one of the two. However, that's a team made to face a know enemy with all know defenses.

.

No other teammate can be deployed in any battlefield, in any situation again any enemy.

I like Miranda and Thane, but honestly I have no problem taking any squad-mate at anytime even on insanity.



Jacob is not the best but after barrier and squad incinerate he can still get the job done, also gives a slight squad health boost, combined w/ miranda gives you + 55% health.



Jacob is not bad even on insanity, neither is Jack....Used her on Horizon Insanity.



All the players IMO are great, unique, and useful. I just wish there were more missions so I could play w/ them all more.



I guess thats what multiple playthroughs are for.

Miranda + Morinth combo killed on my insanity playthrough. Collectors were cut like grass. My reave + Mirandas Warp cut armor. Then some dominate from Morinth and they were as good as dead. Versus synthetics I always took Miranda and Zaeed with squad Disruptor ammo.

Miranda. She has Warp and Overload, which makes her awesome for stripping defenses, AND she boosts party health and damage. She's awesome.



The runner up is Grunt for me. Tough, high damage, bull rushes Husks - great squad member.

I find Morinth better on anything but collector missions and geth missions, Samara is better overall though.

Grunt is my #1 pick. Only person who can take punishment in insanity, eats melee enemies for breakfast, and provides squad inferno ammo for more CC against organics and damage against armor, on top of preventing health regen.

As much as it pains me to say, Miranda is the best squadmate. Warp and overload are too useful to leave behind, then she gives bonus to squad health and damage.



Barring Miranda, Garrus is best. Concussive shot hurts barriers and drops unshielded enemies, overload is still great, but he has a sniper and AR. Very useful.



Jack is great at low difficulty levels. Improved shockwave is HILARIOUS.

ok, I thought miranda was at first, but I've changed my mind. Yes, warp is great and cerberus officer adds to squad damage. She's great, I won't deny.



But then I discovered Legion+Widow+fully upgraded sniper rifles+armor piercing ammo+teammates have infinite ammo and HOLY EFFING HELL EVERYTHING IS DYING SO FAST!!!



I have the widow as well, and it really is quite absurd. This is my second insanity playthrough, and it's actually too easy. Yes, I realize I just sounded like an ass, but infiltrators are really an amazing class.
