I really enjoyed mass effect 2 and i dont like poking holes in it but am i the only one who realised that the Level Designs in mass effect 1 and 2 are sometimes really terrable.

For instance Freedoms Progress. After landing you proceed into a room (next to the landing pad) and Jacob says "Looks like they got up and left in the middle of dinner". Why is the clearly marked landing area only acsessable through some guys house! (and thats just a weak example)

I know this is a mass effect 2 forum but for those who played ME1. On Noveria why was the Garage directly lincked by an elevator to the mess. And then the elevator to the computer core only acsessable through the mess. and the transport hub only acsessable through the AI Core.

Both games suffer from the same downside. Convenience. I will be most dissapointed if i find the same problem in Mass Effect 3!

House? What is so tough to believe that there is a dorm or residence right next to the landing pad? Seems reasonable to me.

I dont know, I'd expect to find a transport hub or maybe even a cargo terminal or warehouses.

I always saw that area as being a mess hall, not somebody's house.

Not to mention how many boxes and crates. Geez! Boxes are everywhere! Just play Mass Effect 2 and you'll see boxes every corner.

There was nothing wrong with Freedom's Progress though personally, once the fighting starts it sorta blends in with every other combat-oriented mission. The deserted colony had some really nice ambiance, music, darkness, ash raining from the sky...very memorable until you start fighting reprogrammed mechs...again.
