i looked back through previous posts but i did not find anything helpful. i recently bought mass effect 2
on a physical disc and i installed it fine. when i go to start up the game it goes black and then crashes out. i meet the minimum system req's. i have windows vista 32-bit (sadly), a dual-core intel @ 3.0ghz, 6gb RAM, nvidia 8800gt and plenty of hdd space. what is the problem here? i desparately need to play this game!

Hello there,
did you try to "run as admin" on the masseffect2.exe? Vista x32 may not be giving the file sufficient privileges... and how is 6gb allocating under x32? It should only allocate about 4gb.
Try the patch too: - "Fixed an issue where the Mass Effect 2 launcher was being associated with files that have no extension" this may be the issue.

Im sure you have updated drivers? Vista is really picky about having working drivers... I used to have vista (ugh!)

the patch isnt working, either. i have reinstalled my graphics driver and applied the patch. i dont have any dlc's. and the 6gb obviously only reads at 3.5gb but that's still plenty. (i use the full 6 on my linux drive for work).
