during the Thane loyalty mission:
I've played through 3 times, and can never seem to get the "I'm a Spectre, start talking option during the interrogation.  I was curious as to how you do that.  Do you have to be full Paragon by then, or something else?

I'm pretty sure you need a pretty high renegade score to get that option.

I think you can only say your a spectre when the layer comes in, after you resist punching him.

Well, I made Thane be the bad cop, because obviously as I am a Paragon Shep I wanted to be the good cop. I used Paragon dialogue options all the time and when the renegage punching fist interrupt appeared I held it in.



Then, Thane takes Shepard aside and frantically says - "We're running out of time".



I am about to say something when the lawyer walks in and says "What's going on?"



And that's the bit where I get an option to just say "I'm a Spectre" and the lawyer says "Oh Sh**!" and I win without being a meanie.



Obviously I had to have the council reinstate me Spectre status first earlier in the game...

That's the paragon option. And it doesnt even require any morality points anyway. You get paragon for resisting to punch him and if you do the blue text where relevant.
