This may seem like not much of a deal, and perhaps it isn't, but then again this is a RPG and these little things are important to some people.

Creating the player character's face is very fun, too bad you don't get to do it more often. Now I have noticed this "bug". No matter what color of eyes you choose, in-game your PC will always have black eyes. Now I don't have anything against black eyes, but what is the point in letting you choose eye color if it will always be black? I just created a blonde character and would want her to have blue eyes. And it's nothing to do with the taint because Alistair's are brown. Morrigan's are feral yellow, and you see all kinds of light blues, browns and greens among NPC's.

If you check the eye color slider, you get a series of dark choices- dark blue, dark brown, dark green, black, etc. But then, halfway along the slider the exact same series seems to repeat itself. I wonder if it was intended that in this other half one would find the lighter-colored eye choices, but by some typo we get the darker ones twice.

{BTW I wanted to show you what I meant, but the PC's PrntScrn button doesn't seem to function in this game. Any other way to get screenshots?}

There are some excellent mods that deal with this very issue.

There are automatic screenshots that show up here on my PC:

.\\My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Screenshots\\

I was able to zoom in on one of my characters that had light colored eyes and confirmed that her eyes were colored correctly (although the quality of the capture wasn't great).

There did appear to be some repeat in eye colors, but lighter ones did exist on my screen (do you have low contrast or brightness on your monitor ?)

Anyway, there are add-ins listed under "Projects" Tab above that improve some Character Creation stuff. luck.

change your details or textures, i forgot which, but change it to higher so you can see eye colors. If this isn't the problem then I hope someone else may be able to help.

...I've never had this issue on PS3. My character's eyes are very vividly colored, especially in cutscenes with closeups.

I got the screen. Here's what I mean, this girl is supposed to have baby blues

http://i212.photobuc...um/Blackeye.jpg

And it isn't resolution or other technical thing, because as I said NPC eyes look great. A setting maybe.

I could see some blue, which is more dark blue.

If I lean in close, I see a dark shade of blue with a hint of green. Can you give a sample of a npc with a similar color?

I don't know about PS3, on PC this only happens if you have Graphics set to "low". It also removes Mabari warpaint.

perhaps you can try this: under video tab in options, try setting you game brighter with the gamma ray thing.

The eyes arent actually black, but mst lighting conditions make them seem very dark.  Since you are fortunate enough to own the PC version, I recomend grabbing pineappletree's eye colour replacer which replaces the standard colours with more vibrant hues that show up better.

The game automatically selects small textures for low quality hardware.  The "Minimum" Radeons for XP are named that way for pixel shader limitations, not performance problems.  An X800 / X850 is unable to show the Medium Textures at all, so the eyes are all brown (not black).  A low end video card, such as the Pie in the Sky suggested Geforce 6600 GT was never sold with more than 128 MBs of RAM, so it will stumble badly trying to use textures bigger than the small ones.

The similarly Pie in the Sky daydream of using an X1550 in Vista is equally bad.  The Core Speed and the RAM speed are both too slow for Medium Textures, so for that one, and similar, weak cards (it's a renam,ed X1300, which back in 2005, was practically at the borderline with the Mainline cards (not too different from an X1600, so it could've been a "1450" when the X1600 should've already been named "1550" for not being solidly inside the Mainline group), you will very likely run into hitching and jerkiness in the aimation if you change from small textures to medium .  .

P. S. I suppose, given the numbers that I suggested as better than 1300 and 1600, that the card that was named a "1550" (and doesn't strike me as being at all practical for a minimum) wouldn've been better named as a 1400.

Here is the "Pro" model of the X1300, versus the (SLOWER) X1550:

Here is the X1300 Pro versus the X1600 Pro, and it looks to me as if the "Fill Rate" numbers have gotten switched!

Yep, it's the graphics, just did it and it worked, if you want to see it vibrantly, though, up the gamma- it's just brighter lighting
