She shows enough concern for infrastructure and civilian life that she organised a lockdown of the infected district on Omega. She talks tough but we never actually see her be brutal or anything.

Fair point -- but someone only concerned for their own life and their position of power would do the same.

And I still think Wrex should have been the toughest fight of her life. :P

Indeed. The mom of Morinth's victim gets to contact Shep because of
Aria. A simple ruthless crimelord doesn't do thing like that.

Well, this is the same woman who said she hadn't taken any steps to remove an ardat-yakshi because "she hasn't tried to seduce me".

I think she's more concerned with herself than anyone else.

Still, people change. I'm pretty certain she is Aleena.

I don't buy it... previouly I heard she's Liara's father... what next? Coincidence.

Then it's a matter of opinion. To me, that is a very strong indication, especially when that discussion on her past really does not need to be concluded with "better luck next time".

Well it is fitting regardless of being an inclination or not, I mean it seems like Shepard tries every angle to get to know her better (or get on her good side) and it fails or at least doesn't go far....so

I tend to agree. You get several lines asking about her past, but can never get anything conrete out of her. All you get are a lot of allusive comments from her that all fit with the Aleena identity. It feels too much like a puzzle the writers especially included for us to figure out.

Also, doesn't Aria mention something about friends or rivals wouldn't want to kill in a fight or something? I'll have to check her dialog again.

As to Patriach being a harder fight than Wrex: Nowhere does it say that Wrex is the best Krogan fighter ever. Patriach may also have slain a Thresher Maw in his youth. Also, the fight took place on Patriarch's own turf. It stands to reason that he had an advantage there.

She probably is. Though I'm surprised that the fight against Patriarch was the toughest of her life if she's the commando who faced Wrex, and she's nothing like the "softy" who didn't want to ever hurt innocents that Wrex described.

She protects the patriarch and risks that enemies would think that she is weak.
There are a lot of hints that she is "Aleena".

To be honest, I'm talking about my personal preferences when it comes to that.

Fair point. I suppose she never says the fight is "one on one", either.

Also a fair point.

Considering all the above, I have now gone from believing Aria is Aleena to... still believing Aria is Aleena, but being happier about it. :wizard:

Wait...I thought her main reason for protecting the Patriach was because he served as a trophy and a sign to all her enemies of what she can do to you.

Her protecting Patriach isn't a risk to her looking weak.

"Better luck next time" is hardly an exclusive statement.

But this is a game, not real life. Its a hint from the writers.

Actually I could well imagine that Aria is at least somewhat afraid of the ardat-yakshi. Given their reputation, she certainly has every reason to at least be weary of one.
Also it would certainly be possible that Aleena has become more self-serving over the years, abandoning some  "foolish ideals" she used to have. Look at how Liara changed in just two years. :P

Asari do tend to change a lot over a short period of time...especially in contrast of their lifespan.

I was gonna mention Liara, but thought it was too easy. :P

And, yeah, you're right.

It is.Dont you listen to the turian that gave you this job???You need the blue/red line,so he described why no one of arias mercs would do that.Because its a sign of weakness.

Because Bioware has a long, detailed history of dropping hints in this exact manner.
generally for the same reasons, too.

Ah the specifics of the quest. I was thinking in more broad terms of giving him a cushy position as a trophy thing.

Not that I doubt you, but its been a while since I've played BG2 and such. Are there some examples that one can look up?

I doubt it's collected in a handy wiki page somewhere. Generally it's simple foreshadowing, which this may very well be.

personally I don't think it's anything more than dropping the hint that she *is* Aleena, I can't really guess as to anything more.

'There is just about as much proof of this theory as there is about the theory that the Illium bartender is Liara's "father", it's speculation, nothing more, unless they flat out say they are who we think they are we can't really prove anything.

Or maybe you could just give us some examples on your own. I'm not really all that convinced just by your word.
