I just completed my first play through and wanted to talk about it.
I went Hard Difficulty, Human Noble / Warrior, and usually kept to the good guy path. My single romance was with Leliana. I opted to kill Loghain and had Alistair marry Enora. At the end of the game, I chose for my PC to slay the Archdemon.
I got the "I'm Kind of a Big Deal" achievement as I reloaded each time my character fell in a fight, a habit I picked up playing Baldur's Gate. I ended up with 955/1625 Total Points and 48/88 Achievements. Looks like I missed quite a bit of content!
My favorite NPC (non party) was Riordan. He wasn't in the game long but the character had a presence.
I completely enjoyed this story. It kept me playing for hours on end to see the next part. I don't think I'll play it through again, but I'm eagerly awaiting the expansion.
Bioware - keep producing stories and games like this and you'll have me as a happy customer.
This game was a great ride.

there are some achievements that are contradictory to each other so you can't get them all with one playthrough unless you reload after make the decision, some are class based also. My dwarf made the final sacrifice too, he was the "Don't worry boys I got this" kinda guy and I thought it would make him Paragon for sure if he did.
Yes I do agree, this game is quite a ride

Yes, initial playthrough is great, but it's awesome playing it again with a different origin (hence the word Origins in the title). Or, even try it as a female - still more options are available.
