I want to use other teammates but it seems her squad passives are just too good to pass up.

At first she's indispensable. But as you get more upgrades and teammates, she's more easily interchangeable.

Me. On my first run I forgot about her squad passive abilities. Also, I was biased toward Samara and Grunt then. I played Sentinel. Second run, I went with Thane and Legion/Garrus. Vanguard for that. I'm using her now though. d:

In my insanity *run* right now i'm using miranda.

Rephrase. She's.. in my party because she has the squad passive ability boost health/damage.

But ya its not impossible or all that hard to do it without her. I think i can.... take out miranda and live...
might have to hit the resume button on the death screen couple more times though.

but all in all i think it just looks better on paper than actual gameplay.

But it still dam good in gameplayImage IPB

I use whoever I think will give best dialogue. I don't really need squad mates any more, picking the right ones helps though.

Mirandas the best squady in the game, only down side is her paper thin shields. Which can be a pain on insanity.

On my engineer insanity run I didn't use her very much. I mostly took Mordin for Incinerate and someone with squad ammo abilities like Grunt or Garrus. Ammo powers give a bigger boost than Miranda's passive, and I always stay in cover when I'm down to health anyway

I hardly ever use Miranda on Insanity.

Overload and Warp are available from other team-mates, and usually you only need one (techbots or organics).

Against tech opponents, someone like Garrus with strong Overload, combined with Legion or Tali is a safe bet.

Against Organics, Thane is a great bet with strong Warp for Barriers and Shredder Ammo, combined with Morinth's dominate, Samara or Jack's biotics to trigger the pull-warp explosion.

Mordin's great in any situation, as long as you have someone with Overload, Warp or strong Ammo skills.

Miranda's one of my least-used groupies.

Her passive buffs are overrated due to the way buffs stack. Late game the 15% weapon damage is overshadowed by all your upgrades.

I went through all of insanity (all I could) with Tali and Garrus. I didn't use Miranda unless I was forced two. Garrus and Mordin made up my squad until I got Tali.

This doesn't make any sense. You think Mordin is great in any situation but not Miranda? lol she has overload AND warp, plus awesome passive squad bonuses, she's useful in every single mission.

Personally, no matter what class I play, I always take her with me.

I'm starting to warm up to her again. I used to like Samara but sadly she does not use Reave often enough on insanity, otherwise she would own, and I don't want to manage it for her. I'm playing as commander shephard, not god

I didn't use her on EVERY mission purse. Her powers made it hard to not choose her, but I found it a necessity to work around it on most fights. After all, I really don't like taking her with me. Of all the characters I enjoyed the most, Mordin was the most fun to bring along. Playing with him on my Engineer was truly fun. Two Cryos, Two Incinerates. Combine that with Grunt and every organic dominant map went down in a breeze.

She is the best teammate, no mistakes about that. But she is not needed.

.

I mean, for the first playthrough in harder difficults I strongly recommend keeping her in all mission, but once you start playing better you can drop her for another combination. You can even beat the whole game with Jacob and Jack..

.

However, I keep her all time because she's awesome.

Miranda is a good choice for every mission, but she's stopped from being the best choice by her weapons. Against geth, Eclipse, and Blue Suns (read: 70% of the game), for instance, I like a Zaeed/Garrus tag team. She's definitely got a spot on the team whenever Collectors roll around though, but Thane isn't a bad idea either.

Me. I tend to choose teammates just to see if they have anything interesting to say and don't bother min-maxing teammates. I've played through insanity with a sentinel, vanguard, and now an infiltrator and there's only been 3 or 4 occasions where my squad choice felt like a hindrance. I will admit, though, that Miranda is the best squad mate in most situations.

Really her team buff is overrated. Zaeed, Garrus, and Thane have large built in damage boosts and access to superior weapons. Miranda is useful, particularly early game for her skills. Overload and Warp is a useful combo.

I find as a soldier on insanity, you can just carry a lot of raw firepower along with you and plow through things.

Meh, as one of the game's two warpers, I actually find her more useful for the inansity Endgame when I need to drop barriers and armor quickly, and slam will one shot a minion by lifting them off a moving platform. Early game before she gets slam, I only tend to use her on Geth missions along with Garrus to drop shields quickly. She and Thane are often my Endgame team, but it depends on what class Im playing.

Other than that, I find her passive bonuses to not make much, if any impact on insanity, compared to the abilities of some other classes, and dont use her much.

I don't.

Personally think she's overrated, at least for a Shephard Adept. I only use her when I don't have an idea who I'm facing against, or I know I'm facing a balanced force *cough*bluesuns*cough*.

Otherwise, there are better people for the job. Organics are better handled by Jack and Mordin early game via squad incendiary ammo + area incinerate, then replaced by Grunt (who has better survivability than Jack) and Samara (who has better firepower plus Area Reave for AoE CC).

Synthetics gets mauled by Zaeed, backed up by Garrus early game (better firepower, plus he gets his overload earlier due to the fact that you go Warp first with Miranda), Tali mid-game (AI hacking will save your life much more than Overload), and Legion end-game (AI-hacking + tough nut to crack).

As I said before, Miranda's problem is that she spreads her points too thinly; it only comes together at max level. As an Adept, you want that Warp first to help you with Warp Explosion, which means maxing overload doesn't come till lvl 15; until then she isn't even that good against shields/synthetics. And even then, you don't get full benefits from her passive until lvl 30, which is far too late for most people.

So yeah, Miranda ain't a bad member by any means, just not the Tier S character people claim she is.

Miranda doesn't have much long lasting power. Sure, she has all debuffs but she can't do much outside her powers.

I don't use her on every misson for Insanity, and I get through it just fine. She's very good by all means, but she's more helpful for some class Shepards then others. I've never hit one point in the game where she's been needed or I'd never get past it. I also like to mix up my squad constantly if possible, so if I bring Miranda it's because I want to, not because I feel I need her.
