i cant decide if my sword shield tank should hav the calian sword n shield equipted er jus starfang wat is better
is calians sword n shield item bonus better than jus havin starfang

It sort of depends on what your other characters are, but there are so many "pretty good" weapons out there that I basically always end up with some left over. NOTE: If you have a mage AW in your party, then anything with stamina regen turns into mana regen...so giving Cailan's Arms (Cailan's Shield and Maric's Blade) to the AW and getting +5 mana regen (!) for the set is better IMO.
I usually leave Alistair as the SnS tank and have my PC be a mage, DW warrior, DW rogue, archer rogue, etc...and either Morrigan or Wynne picks up AW as their second spec. I'm more likely to give Alistair the Keening Blade (since it's warrior-only) or 1H Starfang and Fade Wall/Warden Tower shield/Dead Coat of Arms/Duncan's Shield, give Duncan's sword/dagger to a DW rogue or warrior, and give Cailan's Arms to the AW mage.
Did I miss some scenario where my tank really needs +5 stamina regen?
Then again, I rarely get 2H Starfang because I almost never have more than one 2H wielder in my party (can't stand to wait 6 seconds for a swing-and-oh-well-badguy-is-already-dead) and there are already a lot of pretty good 2H weapons for free (especially now that Nug Crusher is an option).
