If you could recruit anyone in DA, who would it be? (possible spoliers)

Daveth- he held his weight in the forest way better than Jory, and I would have romanced him all night long.
Soris- because I love Soris.
First Enchanter Irving- because he'd be so much more awesome than Wynne, let's face it.
Lady of the Forest- because there *needs* to be a druid spec.
Sergeant Kylon- because he gets smarter and sexier every playthrough.
Master Ignacio- just to hear him talk, and so I can bug him, and so he and Zevran can banter, and to keep him guarding camp in case those tax collectors Morrigan mentioned do show up.

Serwyn (I know he falls quickly at the Proving, but he has serious potential)
Teagan
Panowen (She's the one who will demand the location of the werewolves)
Ser Gilmore
Daveth

Loghain at Ostagar. Would save a lot of problems later on.
After Ostagar:
Seargent Kylon - smartest man in the game. The Wardens could count themselves lucky to get a man like him.
others, in no specific order of preference:
Piotr Aeducan
Vartag Gavorn
Aneirin
Swiftrunner
Isabella
Kardol of the Legion of the Dead
Nial (in the end, he was the only person in the whole damn tower who thought about using the Litany. He may not have been much of a hero, he may not have been successfull in what he tried to do, but in a time of crisis he did assess his resources, formulate a plan and did his best to go through with it)
I like your choices and agree wholeheartedly on Kylon. He has the certain something of practicality that would do well in the Wardens.
I also like Niall, and I think in his own way he WAS a hero. He didn't succeed but his advice in the Fade let me know what to do and where to go. Plus he was a thinking hero, not a brawny one and for me thinking heroes are sexy. (Odysseus is my favorite Mythological hero) I always tell him he was a hero at the end cause I think he was.

~ Gorim, my Dwarf Noble would love to hear his sound advice on, well, everything
~ Jowan, at least some of my characters
~ Kitty, she and Dog would make an awesome pair of companions - just imagine the Landsmeet: Eamon tell you that your Mabari can't fight Loghain and you answer cooly "Fine, then my cat will."
~ Niall, some of my characters liked him and he would remind me of the depressed Elf companion from Baldur's Gate 1, whose name I *still* can't remember
~ Mithra from the Dalish camp, she's cool
~ Riordan, for obvious reasons
~ Ser Gilmore, we could be Grey Wardens together and burn down villages to make sure the Darkspawn can't advance *sigh*

I wouldn't recruit Teagan to the Wardens and run the risk of killing him. But he could join my group and keep my tent warm for me.
In my game he would have to say "The Bannorn will not bow to you simply because you demand it!" over and over again.

OMG thats my favorite cutscene! I fell for him hard right then and there without knowing he was going to be a bigger player later! Thinking heroes are so...SEXY!

Sergeant Kylon, of course. Coolest dude in Ferelden, perhaps even in all of Thedas.
And Aneirin. Of course. He's cute, wise, nice, and gentle. Who could ask for anything more?
P.S. Thanks for the giggle Allerleihrau

That's why I'd rather recruit the templars - the Joining would result in some of their demises, and those that survive get to do something more useful than bother mages. *Imagines Cullen going ape**** on the emissaries* Yup, works for me.

I was surprised when I first looked at this thread that Kylon hadn't been mentioned in the first couple of replies.
A pitty that in Awakening we can't just walk up to anyone we like and offer them a position in the wardens. I know it would be impossible to do it. But it would be so cool. We have enough archdemon blood and whatever other stuff we need to put 5 people through the joining. Not everyone will agree, and there will be repercussions if you try to conscript the wrong person (you may be a hero, but there is a limit to anyone's influence). Feel free to approach anyone you want.
Would be amazing.

However, none of mine are going to be ported over, and I'll wait and see anyways, so I have plenty of time to run a portable PC through DA:O
And the new Warden wouldn't know at all, for that matter.

1) The Revered Mother from Lothering
2) Camman
3) Connor (post demon possession)
4) 1 Hooded Courier

Now that would be fun.
The day after Connor's 18th birthday, a hooded figure arrives at the Arl of Redcliff's door. As the figure throws back the hood, the Hero of Ferelden is revealed. The Arl and his wife's joyous greetings halt midsentence as they notice the Warden Commander's stern gaze. "Arl Eamon, years ago the Grey saved your family, your castle, your people, your country. We went beyond our duty and risked everything. Today hear our request: the order asks for your son."
Or something like that. Haven't written any fantasy in too long, so am a bity rusty.

Jowan, Uldred (I'd free him from the demon and then recruit. The look on Cullen's face would be priceless:)), Daveth (why force Leliana into the party if we already have a good rogue right there?), Avernus (Why can't he help me kill 1 little archdemon and than continue his research? He is a grey warden after all.), Seweryn (he volonteers), Gorim (if the PC is dwarf noble), Caladrius (there can't be too many mages).

Howe would be my absolute last choice - unless it gave me an option with a cut away of me pummeling him every time I went to my camp. It would be fun to continually see a black-eyed and bloodied Howe with broken teeth. If I could do that repeatedly for a few months, I might even absolve him of being a treacherous worm.

Except you'd be recruiting him from the Circle of Magi - he's a mage, after all. Still, couldn't hurt to fantasize about the expression on Isolde's face when you invoke the Right of Conscription.
