Sergeant Kylon - I became a fan the minute he told me that people who voluntarily attack me are idiots
Sandal - I don't even want to know what happened to those darkspawn
Gorim - despite the fact he's somehow married even if you barely stop to pick up Sten and Leliana on your way to find him in Denerim, he is still amazing. I thought he was awesome even before playing DNF, but AFTER...
Teagan- His refusal to leave the village to die even though there wasn’t any hope until you show up was impressive and his acknowledgement that going with Isolde is probably stupid but he had to because they were his family was definitely an attractive concept for a DN.
Shianni- Despite her quite understandable non-elf hatred, she’s definitely one of the more kickass normal characters. There’s no indication she has any training, but attacking Bann Vaughan for attempting to molest them and the way she saw through the Tevinter ‘healers’ just screamed ‘I am not meant for obscurity.’
Soris- the way he – again, with no real training – invaded the Arl of Denerim’s estate to rescue the kidnapped girls was very impressive. And when the Warden’s a girl, he went only with her probably also untrained betrothed with very little idea of what they were doing. And, of course, when he shows up holding a sword awkwardly, the Warden’s guards laugh at him, he slides the sword to her, and the guards realize they’re screwed was priceless.
The Guardian – Sooner or later he would have realized Dog existed and annoyed Morrigan enough into answering his question. Not to mention that his ability to see people’s biggest psychological issues could be invaluable and he could solve quite a few problems by making opponents have nervous breakdowns.
Cailan- He would happily listen to Wynne’s lectures on being a Grey Wardens, better understand the people of Ferelden through his travels with the Warden, and make a better King at the end when he lost some of that naiveté so poor Alistair wouldn’t have to.
Brother Genitivi – He found the freaking Urn of Sacred Ashes. Even if he is overly devout – but hey, Leliana could have someone else to bother with her talk of the Maker – he still can clearly do the impossible, which is a must for a party member.
If you could recruit anyone in DA, who would it be? (possible spoliers)

I would like to recruit the slave merchant in the alienage. He seems like a good mage, and I would be interesting to see how the group would get along with his opportunistic personality.
Ser Otto would also be interesting.

I second Eleanor Cousland, she would certainly have something to say when Wynne starts giving her son/daughter gratuitous relationship advice. And given how tongue tied Alistair already is romancing the PC just think if your mother was there too.zaim298 wrote...
Let see, I mentioned Witherfang before (my god she's hot)... I would love to recruit mother (Eleanor Cousland), Isabella, Iona, Ser Cauthrien, one of em Desire Demon, Aneirin, Lily, the silent girl in the Proving (yes, dwarves are no exception lol), Marjorlaine, Gheyna, the 2nd hoe from the right at the Pearl, Mithra and Lanaya... imagine the things we can do in the party camp... oh oh and I want Sandal too (for a different reason)

I'd like companions that would make sense to recruit.
Gorim - Mostly if you've played the Dwarf Noble origin, Gorim's character and deep sense of duty and loyalty just makes him a great character, I would love for him to come with me in my epic quests and once again serve me as a second.
Levi Dryden - I always get the impression that this man has a heart of gold in some way, if possible I'd like him to accompany me, not for his skills in battle but as a merchant and his curious mind.
Jowan - When I first played the game I thought you could recruit him in Redcliffe Castle, a disapointment later on. If you could have him, I'd like to have the possibility to ''harden'' him.
Athras - I liked him the first time I saw him, and he said he would join me in the hunt for Witherfang if he could, he somehow reminds me of Coran in Baldur's Gate, not by personality a powerful elvish archer.

1. Shianni - makes a good archer, a good leader and a strong female character.
2. Duncan - overall a very cool character and his background isn't really explained in the game. he's got cool armor and obviously very good at what he does.
3. Jowan - although a bloodmage, he's not really evil. from a glance he is a rather weak character but surprisingly stubborn sometimes. Having him in the game could've offered a different view from the Chantry and the Circle.
4. The guy (presumably a grey warden) that pushed the backing off soldier in the battle of Ostagar cutscene - i don't know why i like that guy, but his facial animation at that moment was very well done.
btw, am i the only American that's been spelling GREY after playing the game without realizing it? i just realized that because the grey is highlighted as a type in 4. lol

In no particular order (except for Kylon, who is #1):
- Sergeant Kylon
- Daveth
- Ser Otto
- Bella (she'll kiss you and give you free beer, what's not to like)
- Devera
- Caladrius (Blood Mage slaver)
- Jowan (what can I say, he's still my mage's friend, even after everything)
- Starved Veteran & Orphan Ollie
- Grand Oak
- Any werewolf but Swiftrunner, that guy seemed full of himself. Maybe the Gatekeeper
- Dwyn's goons but not Dwyn
- Myaja
- Rendon Howe (dude is cold blooded)
- Mouse
- Niall
- Felsi
- Anora
- Isolde
- Cammen
- Cammen's girlfriend
- The woman in the Mage Tower who wants to be made Tranquil and then falls to pieces during the Broken Circle

Ser Cauthrien. I always felt she was one of the many missed opportunities in the game.

Riordran and Gorim. In that order. Duncan for sure too, but it would take too much emotional effect out of the game.
