Holy crap, we apparently have a skill-point equivalent of ME1's Lorik Qu'inn.

I've been cruising around the Gamefaqs message boards, and apparently someone managed to exploit an "Unlimited Squad Points" glitch, complete with a recorded video. Aren't there going to be any side-effects for ME3 if something like this happened, or will it get glossed over like the Lorik Qu'inn glitch?

Wow, that's interesting. I wonder how people find this out....

And in regard to your question, I don't know if it will cause a problem in ME3, but I would recommend playing the game normally. In other words, don't do that, it's pretty much the same as cheating. Besides if you are too strong against an enemy, then there is no challenge in the game, which is equal to no fun IMO

Ya, would definitely not do it on any run that I planned on porting over. Might be fun to try if I'm bored and don't mind running around with no intent of saving

I'm wondering what the dev feedback would be on this subject (no, I'm not trusting Chris at this point), which is why I created this thread. As far as exploits goes, I only used the "Unlimited Light Side points/duplicate items on Manaan" glitch for KOTOR 1 and only used Lorik Qu'inn's glitch just to access both the Negotiation and Negotiation side missions in ME1. Last time I recalled, I was slightly hesitant on completing my games until Brennon told me that the character import uses a "check-list" function and that the "Lorik Qu'inn" shouldn't give me negative side-effects. Anyway, I'm not rushing to beat the game yet until after I have all of the DLC available. Thanks for  the response.

Lorik had a bugged conversation loop for infinite paragon/renegade points.

I contemplated doing this for my current Insanity run through, but decided that it'd be a lot more satisfying playing the game the way you're supposed to play it.

Agreed.  Considering the only thing you get for beating insanity is a sense of accomplishment, it defeats the purpose.

I doubt this will have anything to do with ME3. I am sure you can do it without fear of being punished in later games.

This is actually really cool. For those that don't want to use it, you don't have too of course. While for those that want to use it for purposes like testing out the differences between certain powers early on, this is really helpful. You could just use this glitch early in the game, see if you like how what's going to be your final build is, then reset a previous save after you're done and play as normal. I actually hope that Bioware don't patch it just for the sake of its use for people. It's just like the Lorik Qu'inn glitch, it's useful, doesn't hurt anybody, you don't have to use it, and I doubt it'll have any effect on Mass Effect 3.

I often wondered if the developers leave glitches like this in on purpose. I like that you can do that, it'd be fun to play around with the different powers, see what you like or don't like and change it accordingly as you do an actual play through. Not to mention the fact that fully leveling powers isn't ALL that useful, even from the start, at least in insanity (currently doing a playthrough and i'm getting reamed... not sure i wanna keep going, tbh)

Can we also use this on characters?

It always bugs me how certain characters have less points available than others.

Hmm, interesting. I would use this glitch on my squadmates, but not on myself.

That's... far too easy to do to not be intended as a sort of cheat.

why not just download a trainer if you want to cheat? :S

The reason some of these glitches go unfound is because bioware can only test so much. The moment you release a game to millions of players, someone somehwere is going to find something the developers couldnt. I recently watched a video of someone exploiting squad mate positioning to get off the edge of some of the maps, which I doubt bioware tested for. Whether or not you want to use these glitches comes down to self control

This is for the xbox version so trainers aren't possible.

The only other way to do this type of thing is by hex editing saves, but if you do it wrong you could corrupt the edited character completely.

Lol, Samara is Lorik Qui'in

It wouldn't surprise me if the talent system got revamped again in ME3. I'll try this on one playthrough. If it causes problems in ME3 (which I personally doubt it will), I've always got other playthroughs to import.

Yes, I've checked it.  It works on both squadmates and on Shep.  The only thing to watch is that A and X have to be pushed together exactly.

Considering how easy it is to get to level 30 after beating the game once, I'll probably do this atleast for kicks of being 'god.'

If it glitches the save, I can easily remedy that with a quick 10-12 hour playthrough. No harm no foul.

Just tryed this like 5 mins ago, and it works but takes away from being a fun game.

No really.  Not if you've beaten the game several times, which many of us have.  If anything, it extends the life of the game for me, which means I'm actually having more fun.  That fun might only last a day before the novelty wears off.  But I'll take any glitch that allows me to extend the fun I'm having with ME2 if by a little bit.
