I want a less buggy game.  I know that they wanted to get this game out before the holidays, but it obviously wasn't ready.  Hopefully they take their time with the next game, so people aren't flooding the tech help forums with bug issues.

1) Bring back Dog! Love the Mabari Hound

2) More Dog equipment / better advancing.

3) I'd like to see truely turn based combat.

4) More classes / specializations / races.

5) Make the game a little tougher.. its still pretty easy even on Nightmare.

Why? That's an awful idea.

Anyway, for mine:

- Better combat animations. Maybe even bring back the KOTOR style, that was awesome. Hacking away at an enemy who doesn't react to it feels like a step back IMO. Also, more finishers, and finishers more often.

- More varied-looking armour and weapons, not just reskins.

- Toggle being able to see the helmet. Some of those helmets were fug-pugly. Same goes for wizard's hats. Can we actually have actual hoods/cowls?

- A blank-slate 'wanderer' origin, like Fallout: New Vegas are doing. Makes for some good roleplaying.

No headcount limits. If I recruit some party members, it doesn't make any sense for them to sit around in the camp.

Why is that an awful idea?  Turn based combat is at the heart of PnP games which Dragon Age is trying to reproduce in a computer game.

You already have turn-based combat by simply using the radial and switching players. After you've given each NPC an action let go of the radial and then after they've done that action, repeat the process. What they've done with the game play is masterful (once you've gotten use to the radial). You have the choice: you can micro-manage every step using the radial or let it go and let them go at it or you can make it a hack'n'slash like Oblivion. I think we all prefer micro-managing or we'd all be saying we hate this game.

True but there is no autopause after each full "Turn"  I much perfer the combat in the old Gold Box games or The Wizardry series.

If I were to pick a few things I would have to say a more tense story throughout with some more twists and unexpected resolutions. I think not knowing where the story is going is an excellent feeling to occasionally have that Bioware games haven't really managed since KoTOR. I think it would be great to recapture that sense of mystery.

Secondly would come some more practical demands. The game is satisfactory in the visuals department but really it doesn't compete with a lot of stuff that really I think Bioware should be managing. This isn't just in terms of draw distances and terrible distant looking trees and landscapes and odd out of place low resolution textures. There is a lack of flair in the design of gear. Heavy armour looks great as do the mage robes. However light armour looks terrible as do leather hats and mage hats. Really this needs to be fixed. Not only that but there needs to be more variety in mage and rogue gear.

Thirdly the structure needs to adhere to a new structure. For too long have Bioware stuck to the frankly dull structure of visiting 3-5 places in any order during which all the tension and excitement in the plot fades. What would solve this in my opinion is to implement a structure similar to Baldur's Gate 2. This would for example result in a 15-20 hour adventure with 50 hours of sidequests. The catch would be that at certain points you would be funnelled into doing sidequests to say gain levels or money until a trigger was reached. This would add a ton of replayability. In a way it could be similar to Mass Effect's character sidequests but should feel less mandatory.

1. "Better" combat animations. No Mario-with-a-hammer attacks.

2. SCABBARDS!

3. Don't change the difficulty, it was perfect.

4. More companion quests.

5. MOAR!!!

Why is it that!

In the romance scenes they was wearing bras, and my male character was wearing a panty?

And please, Make some better looking armour please!

The mages hat was like wearing boots on your head.

But don't lessen down the blood!

I would like to see turn based left out. Let the japanese RPGs keep it. It's an outdated idea

I'll come back with more, but one thing others haven't mentioned is that the soundtrack could be awfully hit and miss. The main theme and Leliana's song were AWESOME, don't get me wrong, and some of the musical accompaniment at key scenes really improved them (when you meet Sten, the music playing in the background is very memorable and you really get a sense of his feeling of regret. It's pretty powerful, actually. Very nicely done).

However, some of the battle music was downright terrible. It sounded like something out of an NES video game. It's especially jarring considering the excellent main theme. So, a thing that would contribute to an improved atmosphere is better battle music, preferably something a bit more understated.

Sorry for my slow response, been at work.

Turn based, at least for the majority of people, me included, just isn't engaging. DA's wasn't exactly gripping, granted that that's not the point, but it could be improved on with a return to KOTOR's animation system, which was at least prettier to look at most of the time. I can see the appeal of turn-based for some people, but overall I think it's inclusion would generate many more complaints than compliments.

Also, sorry I was so dismissive, another few threads were getting on my nerves and I wasn't in a good mood to start with.

This exactly.  Everything about this game is top notch except for the art direction.  It was wildly inconsistent, doing a great job for warriors but  so lackluster when it came to some mages and all the rogues.  Hated the short mage robes.  I never bought the Vestments from Wonders of Thedas after seeing them in action and promptly reloading.  Why do they make my mage ladies look like secretaries from the 1980's.  In pencil skirts and sensible flat shoes fetching coffee and replacing the toner cartridge.  Ugh!  And the Felon's Coat....I saved and saved for it hoping to get something pimp daddy style but it was so blah.  It's just painful to not wear armor for the rest of the game because I preferred wearing my City Elf wedding clothes more than any of the other options.

You need at least 6 voice actors (three male, three female) just to get each race/gender voiced; more if you want each class and origin voiced differently. Add to that the fact that the main character has the most lines of dialog in the game, I'm glad that Bioware doesn't try to voice the main character unless there is a chance that it won't impact the game that much.

I restart the battle to every one of the battles that someone steals my KB to a major enemy. I've done it for all but one Ogre, I think.

If DA2 is to be a direct sequel...

Then for goodness sakes... continuity, and BRING THE OLD PARTY BACK....

If it isn't a direct sequel than... I don't really have any special requests... but I think we all want to see a 'new game +' regardless of what kind of sequel it is.

EDIT: And by direct sequel I mean that you are playing your Origins character.

I would like to see more variaty with the weapons. The armor is good, the shields are good. Just the weapons. I don't know...just seemed lacking (still good though).

Also, I would love the mage class to fell....a little bit more....magie? The spells are great. Don't get me wrong, but I would love my mage to look like a mage. Not a rooster (whats the other name for rooster :P ).

I don't think I would want my main to be voiced. I would rathr see that space on a disc go to more old school dungeon raiding and loot quests. Ya know what I mean? Traps, ambushes, quirky characters things like that. A little bit more old school would be good. But no so much that it changes the style and mood of this game.

Finally, I would also like to see more skills. Traps, venom, poison herps are dirrect applications. I would love to see more of these in the next game, providing it can be managed and not break the game.

More weapon types like polearms. Balance the magical versions of different weapons better, so there is no 'uber sword' that is better than axes or hammers, or an 'uber' bow that is better than crossbows. Make Xbows useful.

Reduce the length of dungeons and the repetitiveness of monster groups. Reduce the size of most monster groups.

Make lockpicking a skill not a feat.

Get rid of useless, junk loot and just give small baubles or gold instead, and once in a while a nice item.

Get rid of negative consequences for pickpocketing so people who invest in the skill are not screwed. Make some better items available by pick pocketing.

Make dialogue feel a bit more natural.

Balance magic spells with each other, better.

Make a cunning-focused option for warriors.

Take away the dexterity bonus for dwarves to balance them out more for having the magic resistance, and to make humans more viable power-wise.
