Hello fellow modders,
is it possible to nerf shale with the toolset? The game has been very well balanced, but since Shale is in my party the fights are way to easy, but i want Shale in my Party.
Thank you!!
Shale is overpowered - please nerf him

There are also other ways to nerf his damage, mainly by using the worst crystals you can find (or none at all), and dumping his level up stat boosts in something that isn't optimal. I do agree he's a bit unbalanced though, at least on Normal.

Yeah i thougt of that. But this way , i think, is not the best. It would be much better if she were "naturally" a bit weaker, say 20% less armor and damage.
Currently i am playing on hard.

It's a damn War Golem, he's not supposed to be "weak"

There's no other viable damage sponge in the game, and his abilities are something a 'Defense' specced warrior should have been anyway.

With Dragon Scale armor on and Shiled Wall active, Alistair is a much better tank. I'm considering dropping Shale given his overall one dimensionality.

If I might suggest, here in the Toolset forum we ought not to be telling fellow creators that they shouldn't be making a mod because we disagree with their goals. We should be telling them how to do it. Being able to tweak the joinable NPCs sounds just the sort of thing we ought to be very interested in trying to do.
Sadly, I've got no idea yet.

My AW mage is a better tank even out of combat mode. Zev is a better tank. Even Alistair is a better tank. I don't know what you're complaining about.

Shale is kind of a DPS Companion.
They aren't Guard Golems, but WAR Golems. Damage...
Anyway, she's not as OP as Oghren. He's a Boss-Killer. High Dragon, BroodMother, ... Almost had Archie...
But my Gimli was Faster!

Shale is a hybrid, she has ranged attacks, melee attacks, tank abilities, and support abilities each with their own mode. She can also be knocked down at will but cannot be picked up (as far as I know) if you think using Shale as damage is too much, use her support abilities...granted she can't move at that point but it may make you feel better that she only contributes to the rest of your party's damage and such....I found her to be less effective than my other warriors, simply because with sword and board maxed you can't be flanked or knocked down. Two-handers can't be knocked down or stunned so that makes them pretty much able to do damage while everyone else is zonked.

I would have to agree with this. I replaced Alister, with all his shield specs, with Shale as my main tank... In contrast I had to equip Alister with several different items, and Shale requires only TWO....

yeah but between duty, dragon, and jug armors it's not like finding gear is a problem.

We don't have access to Shale's scripting, since we don't have the DLC Source code. You could probably change some of the values in the .GDA files using the GDA editor to nerf him a bit, though.
