I don't know if this has been brought up in any other threads, but I looked at the Mass Effect WMG page on TV Tropes, and I figured if it ain't there, it ain't here either.  Apologies if I'm echoing the thoughts of those much quicker than I.

Has it occurred to anyone that Jack and Miranda are sisters?

-Miranda said it herself.  "I'm not the first one he made.  Just the first one he kept."

-We don't know Jack's age.

-We know that Miranda's father kept trying to make clones after Miranda.

-We know that Miranda and Oriana don't look that much alike, so appearance isn't a factor.

-The sentiment has been raised on this forum more than once that Miranda and Jack are "two sides of the same coin."  Gee, I wonder why that is...

-We know that Miranda's father supported Cerberus.  That support could mean donating cast-off clones for experimentation.

-And a lot of people have wondered why Jack is a mandatory member of the squad, or even TIM's list of dossiers at all.  This could mean TIM knows about the relation, and she's just a part of his long term plan.  Perhaps to weaken Shepard's command structure if he goes too far afield?

So yeah... That's my theory.

Well, for the last point no one knew what the **** was beyond the Omega Four relay. It could have been a fleet of Reapers lined up to invade, or it could have been a single ship. Finding a Reaper manufacturing facility was the big surprise of ME2.

Interesting theory, though.

Is it possible? Sure! Why the heck not!

Its a fine theory but I can't see it happening. Its obvious Bioware has thought out the big picture but the minor details, such as this, they wouldnt spend time on.

And as for Jack being mandatory, why is Garrus? Why put in Tali or Samara? They just are. Jack is an interesting character, no question but I think that may be just it.

Yeah, I thought about that and edited it. I kinda trailed off. Whoops.

But TIM did seem woefully unprepared for "The Hero of the Citadel" not to compromise, so maybe that was a part of his plan. Jack would make a great sleeper agent. We know she has implants.

Not very plausible...

Honestly I think this would be pretty cool twist if done right. Pretty far fetched but there is enough mystery behind both characters past to work. It would be great to see how Miranda would react to Jack being her sister.

With all that said I don't think it happens, just way to out of the blue imo.

Makes not much sense. But thumbs up for trying.

Eh, probably not. I just got some red flags during Miranda's loyalty mission. If her dad didn't keep any of the clones, then where did he put them? I guess I kinda latched on to this theory in lieu of an image in my head of a garbage can filled with clones with huge butts.

Nevermind.

Well, I do have to say I think this is far more interesting than -most- of the "so and so is such and such's brother/sister/father/son/daughter/mother" ideas.

The facts -do- seem to potentially fall into place. But the problem with it is more the fact that either or both of the two could have been killed off in ME2, which would mean the plot could potentially go without the payoff in ME3.

I tend to think most of the characters in ME2 have pretty much finished their character arcs by the end of it. Although Bioware -does- have an odd sort of freedom to do what they want with them, since the next game is the end of the trilogy, and they don't have to worry anymore about leaving things managable for another direct sequel. Still, I wouldn't hold my breath, interesting as this would be.

Yeah, a good idea. Miranda is 30ish and Jack is mid 20s at most........I dunno. It's possible.
