Hi,

I am going mad trying to find out what posts in a thread are new and which ones I have already seen.

Especially in threads that have grown by 8 pages and the one I last saw isn't easily selectable.

Is there a button that opens at the point you last read the thread? Is there an option to make the forums as read on the way out?

Is there, for the love of god, any way to make sense of the order of threads in the forums?  - I like new ones first if at all possible if that helps.

I was happy on the old bioware boards but this forum seems so chaotic and random.

And while I am here why on earth isn't there an insert image button at the top of the post creation window? In which world does bbcode and special characters get used more?

I think I've just become an official old fogey.

I've been trying to make sense of how these forums are arrange for a while now and still can't figure it out.

Anyways, to post an image (note that there used to be a Insert image button)

Click "BBCode" and type (img)http://url of the image(/img) but replace the () with [].

As a start, there is the "Jump to" dropdown option for "recent posts" - that will work for the forums overall. Additionally, there is a "jump to last post" link in the forum/topic list. Other than that, there's no real way to jump to the new posts in a particular thread.

Thanks for the reply Jesse.

Can we suggest the "go to first new post in thread" feature as something we would like to see added somewhere?

It is a fairly basic forum option so I find it hard to beleive it isn't possible to impliment easily for you guys.

And some account selectable forum sort options would also be nice. Small icons for example would be a godsend combined with last post date sorting.

Yes, please for the love of pete let's get a "go to first new post in thread" button/icon as it's driving me nuts. It is a very basic forum feature and without it makes going thru a busy forum very difficult. I posted in a thread yesterday but by today I don't remember what page it was on and waste time trying to find my place again.

Yep, I concur. The lack of being able to jump to the first new post since last visit makes viewing threads a pain, despite the "recent posts" and "your posts" selections.

Also maybe have the topics/forums run by date with the newest ones first or maybe a place on your profile for forums visited like the my forums tab for the ones you have created.

Wierd ... stupid forums kicked me out.

Well my answer was I would like go to new post option.

Jump to last post on a 14 page thread?  I'll pass .. you'd have to read them all anyway/

I'll also ask that this be added. A "first new post" link is absolutely needed. Hard to keep up with some of the massive threads without being able to get right back to where you left off.
