Okay, so, I've generally been of the opinion that Jacob, while not offensive or unlikable in any particular way, is...well...Kinda boring.

Until playing through his loyalty mission renegade style.

Avoiding spoilers for people who haven't done it, but...wow.  That was...wow.  I was stunned.  Seriously.

Anybody else taken off guard by the renegade outcome of this particular quest?

Jacob gets overlooked a lot. By far the most grounded and "real" character in the game (to some that is boring, to me its refreshing). As for the renegade outcome, that was pretty bad ass. I thought for sure Jacob would go the typical renegade route and shoot his father but what happened was pretty powerful.

He's flaten in ME2 so you want to meet him better by playing Galaxies.
