You can get the GPR by upping the difficulty to Hardcore right before landing for Tali's recruitment mission, then dropping the difficulty once you're back on the Normandy.

As for my weapon of choice, I use the Widow most often.

Widow rifle is the most fun for pretty much any character, but it isn't what I use the most.

Overall I used the Vindicator Battle Rifle the most for my Soldier.
Very strong, and pinpoint accurate even at range. I can pop off 3-round-headshots all day long with that thing. I like it even much more than the Revenant. I tried the Revenant once and just switched back to the Battle Rifle.  I like bullets to go exactly where I aim them

For my Infiltrator and Adept I like the Shuriken SMG as my all-purpose gun, believe it or not.  The shorter 3-round bursts don't do as much damage, I know, but I find the barrel-climb on the Tempest's 5-round bursts too much.  The Shuriken has the accuracy; I just like the way it handles better.

Revenant, on insanity. Just use adrenaline rush and run to your target and start meleeing and shooting. Works like a charm

Depending on the class Im playing atm...If Im on my Infiltrator, I have to go with my Widow, which I have lovingly named "The Reaper's Scythe".  And when push comes to shove (or im close enough to do so), I go cloak and sneak around to their backs to empty a SMG mag into them lol.

Now on my Sentinel, I go with the Vindicator Battle Rifle.  Im rarely ever in "firefights" because on that character youll see me spamming Warp and Throw for the most part lol.

Same story for my Soldier.  Gotta go with the Vindicator.  I have the Revenant, or what I like to call, The Spray and Pray, but until you have the AR accuracy upgrade, that thing is TRASH.

And then there's my pride and joy, my Vanguard (drools a moment).  There's nothing like the feeling you get when you Biotic Charge some poor sod and then put the cross hairs of your Claymore to his head and pull the trigger.  It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside every time.

The guns are actually DIFFERENT from each other!  It is not inconceivable that you'd have a preference for one of the older guns simply because you like the way it handles.  It is the same thing with me and the SMGs.  I prefer the smaller, more controllable bursts of the Shuriken instead of the high-DPS wild bullet sprayer that is the Tempest.

This is true. I really like the Avenger, myself. It's just, once I got the Revenant I couldn't put it down. I guess I'd say I like all of the assault rifles, really. The only thing I don't like is how overrated the Vindicator is. It's a great weapon, to be sure, but it's not the Maker's gift to shooting people.

Huh?  It seemed like short Tempest bursts were fairly accurate, at least in terms of hitting center mass.  Once I get the Tempest, I never look back.

Stupidly low ammo but does insane amounts of damage. Headshot killing enemies from halfway across the map before they realize "what the fuc-" is so satisfying.



Also for heavy weapons it's a tie between the Blackstorm and the Cain.
