Why can't Shepard just be nice to the people in his crew? It's not so much saying that he's a jerk, but it seems that attempting to be nice and encouraging to the opposite sex in your squad always translates to "I'm not really concerned about your problems, I would simply like to trigger a cutscene with you at an opportune time."
In my current playthrough, I decided to pursue a relationship with Miranda. That said, Tali and Jack are also on my squad. Tali and I are friends--good friends--so I make sure to encourage her. Jack has enough problems so I let her know that, hey, we can be friends and you can trust me.
So imagine my annoyance when Miranda and I are actually getting somewhere, and the other two are calling me a player.
What?
Heck no.
So consider this, BioWare.
Romance subplots should only be pursuable through "blue" or "red" dialogue.
What this allows is for you to pursue a better "friendship" with your other crew members while maintaining a "romance" with one (or two, should you so choose). This also means that, in order to build a relationship based on how you've leveled up your Paragon or Renegade bars. Depending on your "alignment," so to speak, you can choose to pursue that relationship as nice Shepard or "dirty" Shepard (particularly with Jack, seeing as there are clearly two options there).
Also, this way, the "Paramour" achievement actually means something.
Take this into account?
