to me Meer's VO improved ten times compared to ME1 and Hale well it looks like she's depressed and took pills to get even more depressed ,so im totally on the opposite of the OP it s Hale's VO that i cant stand and play a fem Shep but i guess taste is in nature
Just.. can't... do it.

I like both. Both are fine, and both have their own drawbacks. Meer can sometimes sound monotonous, and Hale can sometimes sound like a Large Ham, or perpetually bored.

I simply cannot believe people criticise Hale because she brought some character nuance to the part.

Personally, I'd prefer to have my Shepard unvoiced if it meant I could have better selection for responses. The delivery is fine, but for me, unnecessary.
But, whatever. Opinions.

Ack no. I hated that about DAO, my only real gripe with game. All this great VO going on and my character just sitting there mute with a vacuous stare.

I prefer Meer for paragon and Hale for renegade, but that's probably only because that was respectively my first two Shepards. I don't despise female paragon or male renegade. Quite possibly depending on the scene, one VO may work better than the other for people, but that's how it's going to be.

same here it s the only gripe i had with the game ,they said they would have needed a male and female voice for each race i still think that only one male and female would have been alright but i guess people would have complained hehe , but im with you on this if the main character would have no voice the game would blow

I have no complaints about either, I don;t feel Hale to be more natural than Meer personally. The Angry One wrote...

But I do prefer to play a male because I feel more connected to that character of my gender. With that said, I find Meer to be great and I love his portrayal just as I am sure you love Hale and her portrayal of the character two sides of the same coin.
Neither is better or worse than the other, only opinion makes it so.

is it me or does it basicly comes down too this
female players like Hales work beter
male players like Meers work better
with a few exceptions like male's who like the female better and vise versa.
i prefere meers renegade lines, i find hale's paragon work better.
a full paragon maleshep is just a snore fest.
all in all id have too choose meers voice, i hardly or never play as a femshep and his voice sounds good with my shepard
