We see the cutscene of kaiden or Ashley getting overwhelmed like eveyone else by the collector bugs. We clean out all the collectors and they run. Out pops Kaiden or Ashley at the end of the quest to wag theri fingers and rebuke us for working with Cerberus. Is it explained anywhere how the heck they were the only ones out of the whole colony (cept for the maintenance guy) to escape the collector bugs?
Did they ever explain about old party member in horizon?...

Actually about 1/3rd (or was it 1/2 o_O) of the colony survived, so they were just one of the ones that they missed.

They're not the only ones.
They're just the only ones that we see.

they aren't the only ones.... when you and your crew went on a killing rampage and bombed their ship...they had to leave early..the remaining frozen colonists you passed by along with the LI were left behind..it was just a temporary stasis

Its your fault. You interrupted the Collectors while they were Collecting so they only got half the colony. Did you miss all the frozen bodies all over the place? Not packed up yet.
Ash/Kai wake up before the other frozen people because they were the only ones in armor. There's built in medical systems on the current suits.

Ah okay, makes more sense now. I didn't know the other colonist where in temporary stasis and that it wore off after a specific length of time.

So you're actually complaining about plot holes, without following the plot?Beerfish wrote...

Also if I remember rightly, isn't one of the emails we get after Horizon from one of the 'survivors' talking about how the school classes are half empty and they don't know how to explain it to some of the kids that did survive?

Well asking about something and getting an answer is a bit different than your normal wailing about plot holes no?

Hey, the most common cause of "plot holes" is from people not paying attention. Besides, in this case it's not like they just say that, you have to read the email I think.

According to the mission summary debrief at the end, 1/3 of the population has been taken, this means that actually the majority were left behind (2/3). Many of the characters say half the population is taken, but since I doubt they have actually counted them at that point I would guess TiM's report is the correct number.
