in the novels all his agents calle him "the man" and in the game he is "illusive".....would have been better they keep calling him "the man"....sounds much better..rolls of the tongue and makes him seem more powerful...small tid bit i know but yeah

Bleh, stupid double post.
The Illusive Man works better for me. It is a more solid identification, and I think it suits his character to pick up something used by his enemies and use it to mask himself.

Wrong, some operatives call him the man, but even at the beginning of the book he is known as TIM, get used to it.

Consensus dictates that he's TIM, plus most people who've read that book have played the games. I doubt it works the other way around.
