Ive seen a lot of people complaining that this game is just one big recruitment mission and contributes very little to set the scene for ME3. I agree. The majority of this game is spent recruiting squad members and gaining their loyalty, with a suicide mission tucked in at the end.

But what I think people need to remember is that you cant import this saved game unless Shepard and at least 2 of his squad mates survive. The squad members who survive are the people who are going to be fighting the Reapers in ME3. This game is about recruiting a team, gaining their loyalty and then throwing them into a crucible and seeing who comes out the other side.

This game is about recruiting an amazing team and preparing them for ME3. Is that really so bad?

Well the problem may be that no one has really said that from BioWare, have they? It sure does seem this way and I hope you and everyone else who has suggested it is right, because I'm not sure I can take recruiting more characters I won't give two rat's arses about when all I want is to know is what is happening to my current mates and develop their and Shepard's story.... :S

No, it isn't.  But then again, 90% of the people whining about the recruitment time have got it in their heads that almost none of the ME2 squad will be returning in ME3 and we might need to go through all that again.

Personally, I agree.  We got some real depth to our squad now, so it's a good set-up for ME3 to be a lot more face-melting explosions and jaw-dropping "didn't see that coming!" moments then ME1 and ME2 were.

I agree, plus recruiting the team is part of the main story anyways in my opinion. Hell it was some of the best parts of ocean's eleven, plus the big reveal at the end.
