1: Guns. It is that simple. Whoever has the best technology wins.
2: Sorry, I expected a basic level of knowledge - as you don't seem to possess it, I'll explain. You were channeling one of the first basic assumptions that must be discarded to get any sort of usable data
3: Knowledge is not the same as discovery. And see what I said previously on the subject of geography - also factor in it's impacts on agriculture and the like. The kind of technological development seen across Europe, the Middle East, and much of Asia is possibly only when you get very, very, very far past a subsitence economy.
4: For having to deal with apartheid, South Africa's not doing too badly - though, there's some unsurprising issues with social stratification and lack of wealth, the inevitability of which I'm sure you will fail to appreciate.
1. Yes, because as a while europeans are more resourceful, intelligent and more inquisitive. That's why they have airplanes, space shuttles, cars, electricity, advanced medicine, etc. and the sub-saharan africans developed... um, mud and straw huts, spears and witch doctors.
2. It must be discarded because you say so. Let me get this straight: I HAVE to agree with your assumptions before we can get to any sort of usable data?
3. Yes, the Earth itself is exploiting them

Europeans can make agriculture work and feed a population, but when the africans run them out and take over, the earth stops the crops from growing.
4. South africa is worse after apartheid just like every other african country that was governed by non-africans. I'm still trying to find one - just one - that isn't a **** hole, but I can't seem to find one.
